A nice countdown script

A client today requested a running countdown displayed on his web page. I did as I always do in such cases - I googled to see if I could find a good one (no point in re-inventing the wheel every time).

Pretty soon I found DHTML Easy Countdown by a guy named Andrew Urquhart. Seems like there is more stuff on his site worth looking into as well.

I just wanted to add that I ended up using the pro version of the script found <a href="http://www.andrewu.co.uk/clj/countdown/pro/" target="_blank">here</a>. The pro version is just as free, but adds some nice functionality.

I checked out your link the the countdown script. For some reason, it doesn't run welll on system in Firefox (1.0.1) - but just fine in IE 6 on WinXP(ugh). It tends to pause and skip seconds.

Peter,

I just checked in Firefox myself, and experienced the same as you. There are some hickups in the seconds countdown every now and then. I checked in Opera as well, and there it works nicely.

Anyone out there using other browsers (Safari or other mac browsers or any browser on Linux) who could check it out?
