Tehkreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan has condemned Bhutto's assasination very strongly today (December 28). Khan said:
'Our reaction is of total condemnation, a dastardly act designed to destabilize Pakistan with the government responsible for not providing her security though she was demanding it. We must fight this menace of terrorism. It is a black day in the history of Pakistan and an irreparable loss to this country.'
This is not the first time since Bhutto's demise that fingers have been pointed at the Musharraf regime for not providing enough security to the former prime minister despite repeated requests.
In Karachi's Lyari which is a stronghold of Bhutto's PPP where Bhutto's assassination triggered violence her supporters bayed for the blood of President Pervez Musharraf chanting "dog, Musharraf, dog, Musharraf" and "killer Musharraf" as news of her death spread like wildfire.
Bhutto's security advisor Rehman Malik has said, "We repeatedly informed the government to provide her proper security and appropriate equipment including jammers, but they paid no heed to our requests."
