Water Conservation
Water conservation is an important component of Gresham’s water system for a variety of reasons. Water conservation:
  1. Saves you money immediately by decreasing your water bill.
  2. Save you money in the long run by deferring expansion of the water system.
  3. Ensures adequate water for aquatic wildlife, such as the salmon (an endangered species).
By following our conservation tips, you can help your pocket book and the natural environment. The typical home which does not have water conservation products installed uses about 90 gallons of water per person every day.  The chart below describes the areas where water is typically used inside a home that has not installed water conservation products.

Notice that leaks represent a sizeable portion of water use. Leaks are sometimes hard to detect. For example, signs of a leaking toilet are not always audible or visible. Click here to find out how to seek a leak.

By installing water conservation products, water consumption can decrease by 30%!
