Chick-fil-A Bowl goes into OT

Atlanta Business Chronicle

The Auburn Tigers prevailed 23-20 over the Clemson Tigers in the Chick-fil-A Bowl's first overtime match.

The Dec. 31 game also had the Atlanta bowl's third-highest attendance with 74,413 on hand for the SEC-ACC battle. The game was also the 11th straight sellout for the bowl.

Each team will get $5.83 million payout this year.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the longest-running rivalry series of top-ranked teams from the ACC and SEC and is recognized as one of the most competitive bowl games in college football. The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the highest-attended non-BCS game in the country and leads all bowl games in charitable and scholarship contributions.
