Taped from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario
Big News: It wasn't a good night for John Cena and Bobby Lashley.
Show Details: Saturday Night's Main Event was taped before RAW, but
for the benefit of those trying to avoid spoilers, I'll write the RAW
The Memorial Day video that started RAW didn't air live in the arena.
Michelle McCool won a Bikini Battle Royal, eliminating Melina in the end. I
guess this makes her a contender. The rest of the girls were Candice,
Mickie, Maria, Jillian, Layla, Kelly, Brooke, and Kristal. Probably the
wettest match ever.
Shane comes out on stage and announces a tri-brand draft lottery will take
place in two weeks. He then said he would beat Bobby Lashley later tonight
when Lashley teams with Cena against Shane, Umaga and Khali.
The Hardys and Cade & Murdoch beat Kenny, Nitro and the World's
Greatest Tag Team in an 8-man tag match. Matt hit the Twist of Fate on Kenny
and Jeff won after the Swanton. After the match, Shelton Benjamin grabbed
the mic and said he and Haas didn't lose, so they challenged the
Hardys to a title match at One Night Stand. Matt accepted the match, but he
made it a Ladder Match.
A commercial (on TV) aired for SNME event. They announced Cena vs. Khali,
and an Arm Wrestling Contest with Vince and Lashley. Another match they
promoted was an 8-man tag with Kane, Goldust, Shannon Moore and Kamala
against Umaga, Viscera, Doink the Clown and Kevin Thorne. That wasn't
the case at all. Read the SNME spoilers below to find out what the real
Todd Grisham interviewed John Cena. Cena said he would do the impossible at
One Night Stand. I thought he already did that at Judgment Day. Somehow,
Cena thinks because its Falls Count Anywhere that submissions don't
count, so the only way he can win is if he hits the FU. Cena basically
guarantees this will happen.
Maria interviewed Santino Marella, who gets a nice pop from the crowd. Maria
asks him what he thinks of getting drafted to another brand. Marella said
it's his dream to be in the WWE, so it doesn't matter to him
either way. Maria giggles at his accent, and Marella jokes it's a New
Jersey accent. Santino leaves and Orton steps in to a big pop. He challenged
RVD to a match because RVD said Orton has no respect for the business on
WWE.com. Randy said he had respect for Shawn Michaels, but he has no respect
for RVD, so he'll enjoy the beat-down he gives Rob tonight.
Randy Orton beat RVD after a kick to the head caused the referee to stop the
match. This was a basic match with some nice spots. Orton gave RVD the RKO
after the ref stopped the match. Toronto likes Randy.
Carlito and Victoria beat Ric Flair and Torrie Wilson in an inter-gender tag
match. Victoria slapped Flair, so Flair put her in the Figure Four, but
Carlito broke it up. The finish came when Carlito forced a kiss on Torrie,
Torrie slapped him, and Carlito gave her the backcracker for the win.
Backstage, Umaga and Khali argued. Obviously, you couldn't understand
either one of them. Crowd enjoyed it. Shane came in and called them the
"Worst prom couple ever", which basically killed the segment. Rest assured I
was on the internet within minutes registering my disgust throughout the
After they came back from commercial, Maria was in the ring hosting the kiss
cam. They came into it half-way through. The real story here is what
happened during the commercial break. They showed a pair of women, who
kissed. But a guy reached over and pulled down the shirt of one of the
girls, exposing her chest to everyone. Besides Edge's appearance on
SNME, this probably got the biggest pop of the night.
Chris Masters interrupted the Kiss Cam. He called out Santino Marella to do
a Masterlock challenge. After a delay, he looked over at Maria, so Marella
ran out. Santino was all over Masters at first, but Masters countered with a
shoulder breaker. He applied the Masterlock and Marella couldn't
The Great Khali, Umaga and Shane McMahon beat John Cena and Bobby Lashley.
The story again was Cena getting booed heavily throughout the match. The
pro-Cena camp finally woke up and the entire crowd was involved in duelling
chants of "Let's Go Cena" and "Cena Sucks". Cena made the hot tag to
Lashley, who got a big pop despite being Cena's partner. Finish came
when Khali gave Lashley the chokebomb and Shane hit an elbow drop to get the
pin. Vince came out on the stage to celebrate with Shane and company.

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Live Report
They used white ropes for SNME and changed to black ropes for RAW. The set
was made for SNME, and was basically the same for RAW. Crowd wasn't
full for the start of SNME, but I think a lot of people didn't know
the show started early. It was mostly full once RAW started. The order they
taped SNME won't be the order it airs.
Chuck Palumbo beat Tyson Dux in a boring dark match. If that was Tyson Dux,
he's a lot better than he was not too long ago.
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler came out separately to do commentary for SNME.
Cole received little reaction, but King got a big ovation.
Anytime they aired a video package, Cena was booed hard. Throughout SNME, a
diva would enter during commercial break to do ring announcing for the
The Great Khali beat John Cena in a squash. Cena was booed as hard as ever.
Crowd didn't like Khali, but they were happy he beat up Cena. Cena got
Khali on his shoulders, but Khali elbowed out, hit the overhand chop and
chokebomb for the win. Before the match, they showed a video package for the
Cena/Khali feud. Khali and his translator thought this was their mark to
come out, but it wasn't. They had to walk back up the ramp and then
Khali's entrance music played. You won't see this on TV.
Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley came out for an arm wrestling contest. Vince
gets a mixed reaction and Lashley gets a positive reaction. With no Shawn
Michaels or Earl Hebner, Vince received the "You screwed Bret" chants. Vince
stalled before grabbing the mic and bringing out Mark Henry as
Lashley's arm wrestling opponent. I think Lashley won, so Henry
attacked him. Lashley speared Henry but Vince hit Bobbo in the back with a
Edge does an interview with Maria backstage. Edge gets a hero's
welcome from the crowd.
Benoit and Batista beat Edge and MVP. Decent match. Benoit and Batista were
both over big. As Batista made the big comeback, Edge left MVP alone.
Batista hit a spinebuster and Benoit used a flying headbutt for the win.
Finlay pinned Little Boogeyman after regular Boogeyman chased after
Hornswoggle. Extreme Expose comes out to dance and they keep cutting
backstage as the cartoons continue to fight. Eventually Hornswoggle and
Little Boogeyman come out to the ring and interrupt the dance number for
Kane, Eugene and Doink the Clown beat Kevin Thorne, Viscera and Umaga. Kane
pinned Viscera after a chokeslam. Doink played with the crowd for way too
long before the match. Lots of boring chants. Some "We want Kane" chants.
Show ends 20 minutes before RAW so they can make the changes. SNME was a
very mediocre and forgettable show.
