STAMFORD, Conn., August 2, 2007 - World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) today announced financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2007. Revenues totaled $137.5 million as compared to $119.3 million in the prior year quarter. Operating income was $9.7 million as compared to $21.4 million in the prior year quarter. Net income was $7.0 million, or $0.10 per share, as compared to $14.7 million, or $0.21 per share, in the prior year quarter. Earnings in the quarter were negatively impacted by a $15.7 million impairment charge related to our revised performance expectations of our feature film “The Condemned”.
The media has provided us with a copy of a letter from the Congressional Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. We are reviewing this letter and will respond accordingly.
World Wrestling Entertainment has been awarded a 2007 CTAM Gold Mark Award for their Affiliate Transition “Single Point of Contact” Marketing Communications Campaign. WWE saw stiff competition within their category at this year’s CTAM Summit in Washington, D.C., as the four nominees also included HBO and GSN.
The sold-out non-televised RAW event this past Saturday at the Honda Center/Arrowhead Pond set a paid attendance record for WWE at this venue, beating the old record set on May 1, 1999. Additionally, this was the highest grossing non-televised WWE show ever held in the venue. Excluding the NHL Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks, the WWE show had the largest attendance of the year thus far at Honda Center. WWE also saw another sell-out on Sunday night at The Great American Bash pay-per-view, held at the HP Pavilion, and witnessed by more than 13,800 fans.

WWE CEO Linda McMahon accepted on behalf of WWE the Ticketmaster Platinum Ticket Award, presented by Ken Lesnik, Sr. Regional Director Sales & Marketing, Ticketmaster. The award is given to Ticketmaster’s national clients whose sales in North America exceeded 500,000 tickets through Ticketmaster channels in 2006. With sales exceeding more than 640,000 tickets in 2006, WWE joins 35 other touring events, performers, venues, promoters and sports teams including Aerosmith, Dave Matthews Band, Disney on Ice, Madison Square Garden, House of Blues and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in receiving this award. The Ticketmaster Platinum Ticket Award is the highest, and the only, award given by Ticketmaster.

STAMFORD, Conn., July 17, 2007 – WWE understands that the toxicology reports for Chris Benoit indicate that he tested positive for testosterone and negative for anabolic steroids. On Mr. Benoit's last drug test in April 2007 administered by Aegis Labs, he tested negative for anabolic steroids and for testosterone. Given the toxicology report of GBI released today, it would appear that Mr. Benoit took testosterone sometime after his April 2007 test and the time he died. WWE understands that his dealings with Dr. Astin are currently being investigated, and WWE has no knowledge of whether Dr. Astin prescribed testosterone for Mr. Benoit at some point after the April 2007 tests.

Adrianna Slaughter of Mitchellville, Iowa, is the first-ever national WrestleMania Reading Challenge Champion sponsored by WWE and the Young Adult Library Services Association. Adrianna competed with thousands of high school students from across the country, having to read 10 books and submit an essay. She was named a regional finalist and getting her shot to compete at the Reading Challenge Championship Finals in Detroit, Mich., the day before WrestleMania 23. The WrestleMania Fan Axxess Tour has hosted more than 82,000 people during its first four stops. The tour made its way through Phoenix last weekend and saw the highest number of attendees since the tour’s inception as more than 23,000 fans converged upon the Arizona Mills Mall. The tour continues this weekend in Hayward, Calif. on Saturday and Sunday before making its way to Los Angeles the following weekend for the “No Way Out” pay-per-view.
