Växjö, Sweden 22-24 September 2006
The digital era has changed the rules on the global media market.
Nowadays the traditional broadcasters, film companies and
other creators of content are challenged by a new competitor
– the audience itself. This can be seen as a threat to the traditional
industry or as a vitalization of the whole society. We take
the positive stance and look forward to an exciting future where
the professional media industry will work in symbiosis with the
young bloggers, v-loggers and gamers.
We therefore established the Participatory Academy – a new forum
for all media professionals and researchers engaged in collaborative
methods and techniques.
