CITY veteran Dion Dublin welcomed the Canaries' home draw against Bury in the FA Cup 3rd Round - but warned that Norwich would have to be right on top of their game to avoid a potential banana skin.

Keith Alexander's Bury side have enjoyed good form of late and have lifted themselves to 12th in League Two - and they will come to Carrow Road with nothing to lose and everything to gain, Dublin told First News.

He commented: "I know Keith Alexander and he has got a good winning mentality which he will instill in his players. I have been at this stage of the competition as underdogs with Cambridge United and I know in these kind of games the lower league sides will go for it absolutely hell for leather.

"It's a home draw which makes a welcome change and we have to go out there and earn our favourites' tag. If we are on top of our game we should win, simple as that - but if we get complacent or underestimate them, we will be in trouble."

Asked whether the FA Cup is a boon or a burden for City given their current league position, Dion was in no doubt that the competition is what you make of it.

He said: "I believe individually and collectively a good cup run can really boost confidence and shouldn't cause a distraction from what's going on in the league. We know we have got to keep improving and the FA Cup should be part of that improvement, as well as obviously the league games."
