KUALA LUMPUR: Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Harry Connick Jr (picture) will be in town for a three-night concert at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) from March 3.

The show, part of his international series of My New Orleans Tour held in conjunction with the release of his latest album, Oh My Nola , will be his second performance in the country after a sold-out concert in February 2005.

It is presented by DFP and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM). The New Straits Times is the official newspaper; Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, the official hotel; and ntv7, the official TV station.

Connick will be accompanied by the Big Band, featuring saxophonists Ned Goold, Jerry Weldon and Dave Schumacher, trumpeters Roger Ingram, Bijon Watson and Mark Braud, trombonists Jeff Bush, Dion Tucker and Joe Barati, bassist Neal Caine, drummer Arthur Latin and percussionist Lucien Barbarin.

Performances are scheduled at 8.30pm on all three nights. Tickets are priced at RM240 and RM300 and will be on sale from Jan 18.

IF you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will jump out. But if you place a frog into a pot of lukewarm water and slowly turn up the heat, the frog will not jump out and stay there. This is because his body can slowly adjust to the external temperature accordingly. However, when the water temperature reaches boiling point the frog will be boiled to dead. This is called boiling frog syndrome.
