Exhibitions, cultural events, folklore shows and sports events have been realized in each sister city in order to improve friendship relations between our people and to let them know each other closer. Thanks to the Culture Days, which have been launched by Greater Municipality of Ankara recently and which include Art-Culture Activities, Round Table Meetings among official committees and Round Table Meetings among Businessmen of the cities, contribution is made in improvement of friendship understanding of the people, knowledge and experience exchange is realized between Municipal Bureaucrats and Councils and a great success is achieved in development of commercial and economic relationships by ensuring direct contact between the businessmen. 5th May Europe Day Celebration
Greater Municipality of Ankara realized the opening of Dikmen Valley, one of the most important urbanization projects of Ankara, on 5th May 2003 with participation of thousands of citizens. In the celebration, which the most important pop and folklore artists of Turkey participated in, Melih GÖKÇEK, the Mayor of Greater Municipality of Ankara celebrated the EU Day and expresses his opinions about membership of the European Union.
