Miranda deposits Banks!

Super middleweight superstar Edison Pantera Miranda (30-2, 26 KOs) scored a devastating third round KO over The Contender's David Banks (15-4-1, 2 KOs) on Friday night at the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena. A big right hand left Banks sprawled through the bottom two ropes. He was counted out at 1:15 by referee Tellis Asimemio. Miranda is rated WBC/WBO #11, WBA #12 after moving to the 168lb ranks. Miranda may now be moving on to a showdown with fellow contender Jean Pascal in June possibly in Montreal.

The unbeaten WBO #2, WBC #4, WBA #8, IBF #10 rated Pascal (21-0, 14 KOs) also appeared on the card, winning a ten round unanimous decision over Omar Pittman (15-4-1, 8 KOs). Pascal dropped Pittman in round two and dominated the fight until he was rocked by Pittman in round seven and hurt again in round eight. Scores were 98-91, 98-91, 97-92.
Former middleweight title challenger Sebastián Demers (21-1, 9 KOs) outpointed Thomas Brown (11-3-1, 7 KOs) over eight. Scores were 78-74, 78-74, 79-73.
Heavyweight Kasim Howard (5-0, 4 KOs) dropped Ron LaForge (1-1, 1 KO) twice before the bout was stopped at 1:52 of round two.
Junior welterweight Jesús Pabon (11-1, 8 KOs) scored a third round KO over Daniel Gonzales (7-12-2, 2 KOs). Time was 2:34.
Unbeaten junior welterweight Dierry Jean (10-0, 7 KOs) crushed Anthony Woods (5-7, 2 KOs), getting a referee's stoppage at 2:57 of round one.
Unbeaten welterweight Joey Hernandez(8-0, 2 KO) outpointed Alpachino Allen (3-1, 3 KOs) 40-36 on all cards.
