Exclusive: NBC Extends Chuck, Life for Full Season!

Zachary Levi by Mitchell Haaseth/NBC; Damian Lewis by Dean Hendler/NBC
It took 'em a while, but NBC is finally rewarding a few of its freshman series with back-nine orders — and methinks you guys will be very pleased with the first two recipients.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock has picked up Chuck and Life for the full season.

That noise you hear is Jaime Sommers' artificial ego short-circuiting.

What Chuck and Life have lacked in ratings might, they've more than made up for in buzz — a fact I'm reminded of every time I peer into my Ask Ausiello mailbag. (And with the exception of One Tree Hill, you Ausholes are rarely, if ever, wrong.) That's not to say that either show is tanking in the Nielsens. Chuck, which, IMHO, hit a creative peak with last week's episode, is holding its own in a tough Monday time slot. Life, meanwhile, is showing signs of just that Wednesdays at 10 pm. In fact, last week it built on its sagging Bionic Woman lead-in for the first time in adults 18-49 — one of which will soon be me. (As you guys know, I checked out after the underwhelming pilot. But I'm gonna give it another shot. Promise.)

So, what say you? You happy with NBC's two-pronged pickup? Or was Bionic Woman more deserving of one of those two slots? Speak now in the comments section below or forever keep your traps shut!

Awesome news! Both shows have never had a bad episode. And they actors have chemistry unlike Daisies.

Woohoo for Chuck! You can’t see it but I’m doing an embarrassing victory dance as I type this.

Now I just hope NBC shows mercy on us and pays for another 6 episodes of Friday Night Lights so it can at least go out in style (A Nicholas Cage movie got better ratings in its time slot last Friday so I’ve resigned myself to the show’s eventual cancellation)

With the strike, will these episodes even get made, though? I would love to see a full season of Chuck.

AWESOME!!! Chuck is definately one of my new favourite shows; I hope that the strike won't prevent us from seeing all 22 eps.

Yay!!!!! Now I'm even more excited for Chuck tonight. And I was already going to watch it in real time (even though I have DVR) because I can't wait the extra 15 minutes. That's the mark of a good show, right? I don't even do that for BSG or Friday Night Lights.

WOW! Can this day get any better? Chuck is my favorite new show! =)

And the strike possibly coming to an end - how awesome is this day?!

And, is it possible that NBC has decided to renew Chuck and Life because the strike might be coming to an end (do they know something we don't?), since they didn't want to renew any of their new shows until the strike is over...? Hmmm...

YEAH for Life! It's my favorite new show of the season. I'm glad to see NBC giving it a chance. And yeah for Chuck as well. I also watch it but am not as obsessed with it as Life. And thank you for continuing to mention Life - perhaps you could get an interview with Damien Lewis and Sarah Shani in the near future? Santa will send you LOTS of Snapple!

Good news all around, I highly enjoy watching both shows. Or is it already time to say "enjoyED"? Not many episodes left with the strike and all... :(

Either way - even though "Life" took a few episodes to find its way, it now is one of the best cop dramas with a twist out there, and "Chuck" is just, well 'awesome' of course!. :)

Well, at least if You liked "The O.C." and enjoy shows about basically nothing but ridiculously good looking people making out with some sort of story build around it. But heck - I do, OH I SO DO! :)
