Product Description

MelMax is a medical device manufactured by Dermagenics and currently available and approved for use in Europe and the Middle East. MelMax is a sterile wound dressing impregnated with Polyhydrated Ionogens (PHI-5) ointment and honey. MelMax can be used for all types of wounds, including burns. PHI-5 contains a synthetic blend of metal ions, equivalent to the formulation for DerMax, such as those that normally also occur in serum and wound exudates. The wound dressing, which is impregnated with PHI-5 and honey, is a tissue made of acetate. Acetate is an inert material. The PHI-5 formulation and the honey will be gradually released onto the wound surface after the dressing is applied to the wound.

Indications for MelMax wound dressing

Acute wounds:

• Burns
• Surgical wounds
• Traumatic wounds
• Other acute wounds where fast epithelialization is required

Chronic wounds

• Leg ulcers
• Diabetic ulcers
• Decubitus ulcers
