When did diabloii.net start?

February 1997.

How big is diabloii.net?

There are over 5,000 pages of information available to visitors.

How many hits a month does diabloii.net get?

Per month diabloii.net serves 35 million pages.

Where is diabloii.net?

Homes have been from the east coast US to the docklands in London, to within spitting distance of Edinburgh castle. Currently the site is in the sunnier climes of California.

Why are you asking people to donate to DiabloII.Net

Since the online advertising market has taken a nosedive it has affected any website that relies on banner ads alone, rather than merchandise or pay per view for example. DiabloII.Net is no exception. IGN, our affiliate, has had to slash our advertising inventory by 94% due to their own financial shortfalls which left us, at very short notice, with a massive portion of our inventory unsold.  We have another agency who are trying to establish a client base for DiabloII.Net but this takes time and at present we rely purely on click-through adverts to generate income.  Not enough people are clicking the banners that appear on DiabloII.Net and as such we can not meet our hosting bill each month.

Do you host other web sites?

Yes we host a number of sites that offer something different to the content we already offer (Darkness, DII Econ, Naked Babe, The Dark Library).  Any new sites would need to offer something new also.  We host a couple of guild sites (Holy Knights of Westmarch and Grudgebringers Legion) but are not looking to take any more on.

How do I get a job at diabloii.net?

If there is a specific position available it will be advertised on the staff page under 'Vacancies'. Anyone applying should firstly be an active Diablo II fan, have a reasonable knowledge of its and Blizzard's history and be willing to give up free time each week at the very least.

Do Blizzard visit the site?

Of course:) As Diablo II fans themselves they're as interested as any other fan to see what's happening in the community.

Is it true DiabloII.Net staff have been "inside?"

Yes, in December 1999 we were lucky enough to get to spend a weekend previewing Diablo II with Blizzard North in San Francisco.  They have smashing offices filled with toys and cupboards full of sweets and soft drinks but they manage to muddle through, somehow.

Do you get paid to work diabloii.net?

We all have jobs outside of our site work. We endeavour to keep the site self-supporting, so none of us have to tap into our personal finances to pay for its upkeep.

Do you guys get inside information?

Blizzard do on occasions answer questions, either at trade shows, through interviews or even via email.

Do you always tell all you know?

On the occasions we are asked not to publish information on the site we will not, so no, we do not always tell all we know.  But Blizzard are a very secretive bunch and guard their secrets very well.

Why do you not carry any cheats?

We feel it safer to not carry any utilities, (even those intended for Open characters only) that alter the code of Diablo II or the way it was intended to operate. We are not programmers and therefore would not be able to examine a program to ascertain if it was exploitable for use on Battle.net also. There are other websites available for that.

You did not answer my email, why?

We would like to be able to respond to each email that comes in, even if to just say 'thanks' but there just isn't the time. The volume of email is too great. We receive hundreds of emails a day, some submittals, some queries, some requests and we usually only reply if a follow up is needed. If you write and do not receive a reply, please do not take it personally.

Have you guys met in real life?

Yes.  We have met at trade shows and when vacationing abroad when we've needed somewhere free to stay.:)

If you have any questions about the site then please feel free to mail them here.
