Seth Rogen is Stoner of the Year Print E-mail

The 7th Stony Awards, held for the first time in Los Angeles on Oct. 13, proved to be a sweet-smelling, star-studded affair. Followed the three-day NORML Conference, ticket sales benefited the pro-pot organization.

Seth Rogen @ StonysAwash with some of the best marijuana in America and home to some of the most liberal attitudes regarding cannabis, Hollywood's Knitting Factory was a most welcoming atmosphere for the Stonys. The ceremony celebrated the best in marijuana-related entertainment on television and in the movies.

Tommy Chong emceed the event with his on-point humor and ultra-professional ability to engage the crowd.

CelebStoners in attendance included Chong and his wife Shelby, Stoner of the Year Seth Rogen, Weeds cast members Indigo (Vaneeta) and Page Kennedy (U-Turn), Mad TV's Debra Wilson Skelton, PBS travel host Rick Steves, Mystery from VH1's The Pickup Artist, 2006 Penthouse Pet of the Year Jamie Lynn, adult-film star Tera Patrick, rappers Redman and B-Real, and comedians Joe Rogan and Ngaio Bealum.

Reggae artist Joseph Israel kicked off the show by lighting up a joint on stage. Los Marijuanos, a high-energy hip-hop group who have performed for numerous NORML events, performed musical interlude between award presentations. The lucky winners were honored with beautiful glass bong atop a polished wood pedestal featuring a proud plaque on the front proclaiming their achievement.

Accepting the Stoner of the Year Award primarily for his role in Knocked Up, Seth Rogen said, "If they could only make a Masturbator of the Year I'd be all set. Smoke weed everyday!"
