Giants 23, Packers 20
Super Bowl XLII will once again feature a quarterback by the name of Manning. However a different Manning then last year. Eli Manning, not Peyton Manning has led the New York Giants to the Super Bowl after an impressive win over Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers in historic Lambeau Field.
Despite not throwing a touchdown, Manning threw for 254 yards and did not turn the ball over against a very tough Green Bay defense. Manning was able to hook up with Plaxico Burress 11 times for 154 yards.
After Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes missed a 36 yard field goal at the end of regulation, he was given another chance to win the game in overtime. Tynes made a 47 yard field goal allowing the Giants to win their 10th straight game on the road and ending Brett Favre's magical season.
Patriots 21, Chargers 12
After getting off to a rocky start, the New England Patriots still proved to be too much for the depleted San Diego Chargers. Although the Pats did not appear to bring their A game, their B or even C game still appears to be unbeatable.
Even though Patriots quarterback Tom Brady only threw for 209 yards and accounted for three interceptions, he was still able to throw two touchdowns. One of the touchdowns was caught by Pats wide receiver Jabar Gaffney, the same Gaffney that Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman did not know the name of.
With the win the Patriots have not only earned the right to play in their fourth Super Bowl in seven years, but also have a chance to make history. New England is only one win away from completing their magical season and forever being known as the Perfect Patriots.
