DENVER - New bills introduced in the Legislature this week:

House Bill 1157 by Rep. Ellen Roberts, R-Durango, would set up a youth advisory council for the Legislature. Roberts plans to have local students help her lobby for the bill. She has rounded up 18 co-sponsors in the House.

HB1114 would increase the state payments to nursing homes that have been shorted in recent years. If the bill makes it to the Senate, the sponsor will be Sen. Jim Isgar, D-Hesperus.

HB1152 would guarantee that college students' tuition would not rise if they graduated in four years and maintained a 2.0 average.

Senate Bill 82 would allow beer, wine and liquor to be sold on Sundays.

SB73 would require college textbook publishers to mark the prices clearly on their Web sites and offer to sell the books alone, without costly "bundled" software and extras.

SB79 would grant in-state tuition rates to U.S. citizens who attended high school in Colorado, even if their parents are not legal citizens.

The Legislature will meet through early May.
