Starlet patient at Blues

Chelsea youngster Miroslav Stoch has revealed he was nearly selected for Wednesday's Carling Cup game at Hull, and is happy to wait for his chance at the club.

The 17-year-old has been with the Blues for two years and after becoming a regular in the reserve side, nearly broke into the first team on Wednesday.

"I was almost picked for the Carling Cup game at Hull," he said on

"They picked up one youngster from a choice of three, me being among them. It was very close, but I must wait for my next chance."

Stoch has also spoken about how the club are coping after the departure of Jose Mourinho as manager last week.

"It is somehow strange, plenty of people were sad during the first days after his departure. He is a big personality and one of the world's best coaches.

"I think though that the situation has returned to normal and despite some poor results recently, the team atmosphere is okay."

The youngster has also revealed that Avram Grant has a very different style of management to his predecessor.

"In the past, the assistants were in charge of training. Now it has rapidly changed. Most of the time, Avram Grant is in full charge of the training sessions.

"The training is very untraditional, we are regularly playing practice matches," he added.
