ELDAD CALLS FOR"CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

If Olmerde was not so obvious and blatant in his treason against the state of Israel, one would believe him to be an agent of Islamic jihad. Rushing to ruin ............. the Israelis seem impotent and the Jewish diaspora have abandoned their brothers.

PM Olmert: 'Yesha Construction Stops Here'
Olmert says he must approve all building in Judea/Samaria,
MK Aryeh Eldad responds to the ban by calling for civil disobedience."

IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has sent a letter to his Defense, Housing and Agriculture Ministers, stating clearly, "Your approval is not sufficient; from now on, all construction in Judea and Samaria - including additions to existing structures - must be OK'ed by me."

Defense Minister Ehud Barak must approve all construction as well.

MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) responded sharply: "Even in the days of the White Paper [during the 1930's, when the British rulers tried to choke Jewish growth in the Holy Land - ed.], the British High Commissioner did not need to give his approval any time someone wanted to close in a porch.  The time has come for civil disobedience against Olmert, who wants to choke the settlement enterprise."

Olmert: No Building At All Until March
Olmert also says he must review every new building plan or housing tender issued in Judea and Samaria.  It is widely assumed that this is just another step by Olmert towards making sure that U.S. President George Bush, who is set to visit Israel next week, has nothing to chastise Israel about on the settlement front. Olmert told Housing Minister Ze'ev Boim last week that all construction in Yesha is officially frozen for at least the next two months.

Eldad: "The Surrender didn't Help"

The would be Prime Minister nails it. If not Eldad, who? Who will seize the reins of this out of control train wreck? If you missed my interview with DR. Eldad, go here. Can Israel elect the uncorrupted?

The Surrender Didn’t Help
By Arieh Eldad

The U.S. intelligence report that Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program four years ago hit the Israeli government like a bolt from the blue.  The immediate implication is that the United States is not going to use military force against the Iranian nuclear industry.  The line put forth by the Olmert government has collapsed, and Israel, which had hoped that Bush would take out Iran before he leaves the White House, is now alone.  For the last two years, Olmert has been repeating a single mantra: Iran may be threatening to destroy Israel, but it is a threat to the whole world, and Israel should not play a major role in the fight against Iran; we should let the world do the work.

But the world does not hurry to fight for Jews.  The Allies did not fight the Germans because of Auschwitz, and the British and French did not fight Egypt in 1956 because it had closed the Suez Canal to Israeli ships.  The United States did not fight in Iraq because Israel was afraid of Saddam Hussein. The United States might have fought Iran were Israel a strategic asset in the Middle East that needs to be defended, or in order to prevent a regional conflagration, if not a world war.  These scenarios have been ruled out by Olmert’s foolish policies.  Israel has ceased to be an asset and has become a burden following its failure in the Lebanese War, when it was faced with a few hundred Hizbullah terrorists, and following its refusal to an American request  to attack Syria.  And because Israel argued from every possible platform that Iran is the world’s problem, the world will now decide how it wants to deal with this problem.

Had Israel announced that it would attack Iran and destroy its nuclear industry at any price and by whatever means necessary if by a certain date the free world had not done so, then a U.S. attack might have been a possibility, as the United States sought to avoid a regional war that might follow an Israeli attack.  But after the Lebanese War, Israel is no longer a useful player in the war against the evil axis, and therefore Israel may end up being made useful in a different way; for instance, Israel may end up being an excuse, a legitimate reason to destroy Iran after Iran uses its nuclear arms against Israel. Until that time, Israel is the currency being used by the West to placate the Moslems for the catastrophe in Iraq.  Olmert went to Annapolis to surrender and shortly afterwards President Bush betrayed him with the publication of the intelligence assessment.
Recently a contest was held in England to determine the joke most typical of British humor.  The following story won:  Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson goes on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend.
'Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes," replies Watson.
"And what do you deduce from that?"
Watson ponders for a minute.
"Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.

"Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?" Holmes is silent for a moment. 'Watson, you idiot!" he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"

This is what has happened to us.  We have been so mired in analytical dialectics and reasoning that we have neglected to see the obvious.  We have been so busy trying to convince the world that Iran is threatening the entire West, that we have neglected to prepare for the more reasonable possibility that we will have to fight alone.  Olmert has been so busy trying to prove that he did not fail in the Lebanese War that he has ignored what the whole world knows: that Israel was defeated and that this disaster caused a drop in Israel’s stature and value on the world exchange.  Ehud Barak is so busy threatening to begin a large military operation in Gaza that he has neglected to begin it, though such a move must precede any attack in Iran.  Lieberman is so busy issuing threats that he has fallen asleep at his strategic post and not noticed that we were left alone.  And Tzippi Livni is so busy obsessing about withdrawing from Judea and Samaria and thinking about her beautiful friendship with Condoleeza Rice that she has not noticed the poison Rice has prepared for Israel – the poisonous intelligence report claiming that Israel’s fears of Iran are mere paranoia.  All of the above are busy with their own business and do not see the simple, obvious picture:  In 2009, Iran will have nuclear weapons and our tent is gone.  Israel will have to fight alone; but not with its current leadership.

Who said that?

"Yerushalayim [Jerusalem] is not just a city. Yerushalayim is not just the united eternal capital of Israel. It is, obviously it is, but it is a lot more. Yerushalayim is our city. It is not the city of anyone else, it never was and it never will be (applause) - never. Whenever Jews from outside of Israel speak out their mind, there are those who say, it's not your business - you don't live in Israel, you don't have to go through the pains and terrible experiences that we have to go through, so why do you think that you have a right to intervene in this debate? And I don't want to talk in general terms. I can only say this: No one has the right to say to any Jew, no matter where he lives, that he has no right to speak up his mind about the future of Yerushalayim. Because Yerushalayim is not only the city of those who live in Yerushalayim, it's not only the city of those who live in the state of Israel - it is the city of every Jewish person no matter where he lives, and every Jewish person not only that he has a right, but in my mind he has an obligation to speak up his mind about the future of his city because the future of Jerusalem will ultimately determine the future of the Jewish people no matter where they live."

Why that was Ehud Olmert back in August 2002 when part of his brain (and what was left of his nashuma) was still functioning.

Further,  ahem ahem Prime Minister Olmert's commented yesterday that Diaspora Jewry,  had no right to weigh in on Israel's diplomatic and security decisions - even on the future of Jerusalem. He said that Jerusalem is not a Jewish issue, it's an Israeli issue ............ not a Jewish issue, an Israeli issue.  Whats the difference? There is no difference, numbnuts.

For whom does the bell toll?

The evil that men do...... and make no mistake this is evil. Don't buy into the leftards use of the word "misguided." This is treachery. Perfidy! Olmert said 13 years ago, just a year after the signing of the Oslo Agreement, the need to stand together against those who offer to give away parts of the Land of Israel, "because those who say now that we should give away some parts and keep others, will in the end give away the others as well." View here the video clip of the speech (in Hebrew), delivered at the Binyanei HaUmah Convention Center in Jerusalem.

Dark dark days my friends.

The wake up call! David Shalom INN Hat tip wolf

The train to Annapolis speeds towards catastrophe. The "City on High," the venue for the latest American "peace" summit is where Ehud Olmert and his Kadima-Labour gang will lead Israel to new lows. Capitulation on our capital city, surrender of our heartlands of Judea and Samaria, and the formation of a jihadist terror enclave that will be able to rocket all of Israel's population centres - that is the plan. Jerusalem for the Arabs, Judea and Samaria to be Judenrein and negotiations with Ahmadinejad's Syrian ally on the possibility of surrendering Israel's Golan Heights to Iranian-trained troops are in the cards.

And so, it seems we cannot trust our politicians to save us. We cannot expect corrupt individuals to stand up for Eretz Yisrael. The future is in the hands of the people of Israel themselves.

Our grandchildren will no doubt ask, "But where were the people? Did they not hear the news of surrender, did they not smell the scent of national suicide, did they not have an ounce of dignity and a natural desire for survival? Why did they march lemming-like to their own destruction? Oh grandfather, where were you as Olmert signed the death certificate for Israel?"

Let this not be our future. Let us meet on the barricades, in Zion Square and outside the Knesset. Do not say you were not forewarned; but will you heed the wake up call? It is surely time to act. More here.

UPDATE: American jewicidal delusions

UPDATE: Bolton on Annapolis;

Bolton contends that the Annapolis conference is misguided and will put the U.S. in a “far worse position” and could very well result in a “decline in American influence”.

He suggested that instead, Rice and State should have concentrated more efforts on resolving the Lebanese/Syrian impasse and regime change in Iran.
[....]
When questioned further on the Annapolis Arab - Israeli peace conference, Bolton said that there was “no real Palestinian interlocutor.” That neither Israeli Prime Minister Olmert, currently under indictment, nor PA President Abbas can lead. On the spurious argument bubbling up in the world press that the Annapolis forum was intended to build Sunni opposition to Iran, Bolton noted that “there was no substance at the core of the Annapolis agenda”. In effect, the conference had “a hollow center”. He noted that there was no difference between Sunni versus Shia extremism - they both supported terrorism. He said that talk of concessions was” wrong at both ends”.

What happened to the 14 reservations? hat tip Jerry Gordon

by Arieh Eldad, Ma’ariv, November 23, 2007

On May 25, 2003, following a stormy debate, the Israeli government accepted President Bush’s “Road Map,” but attached to it fourteen reservations, which were, as Ariel Sharon described them, “red lines.”

If my political biography includes any black spot, it is that I was a member of the National Union when it was a member of Sharon’s coalition. Even though ministers Elon and Lieberman voted against the Road Map in the Cabinet, they did not immediately resign when the government adopted this disastrous plan, which includes recognition of a Palestinian State, an end to construction in the settlements, and a dismantling of outposts established after March 2001. Their excuse was the fourteen reservations and conditions that Israel attached to the plan.

Kislev תשס"ח

To: The President of the United States
Mr. George W. Bush
c\o Ambassador Richard Jones
Dear Mr. President,

I wish to congratulate you for all your efforts and determination to fight terrorism and to establish democracy throughout the world. The war in Iraq is a fine example of your devotion to this cause.

Unfortunately, democracy is not well accepted in the Middle East. The decision to let the Hamas participate in democratic elections in the Palestinian Authority paved the way for this terror organization to take over the Palestinian Authority Parliament, and the suggestion that we should strengthen Abu Mazen by making more concessions to a Palestinian leader who will be not able to supply the goods will only lead to the creation of a Hamas state in Judea and Samaria, exactly as happened in the Gaza Strip.

I wish to draw your attention to the fact that the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Ehud Olmert, is suspected of corruption and he is currently under criminal investigations in four cases, In these conditions, his public support is extremely low, and not only does he not have the moral mandate of the people of Israel to make concessions, but any future government of Israel will not be bound by his declarations.

I therefore call upon you to postpone the Annapolis Conference until the criminal cases involving Ehud Olmert are either closed and he is able to win the support of the Israeli people, or he resigns in order to face trial and the citizens of Israel will elect a new prime minister who will have the mandate to negotiate with the Palestinians.

Sincerely,

Prof. Arieh Eldad, MK

Eldad Considers Joining ‘Hatikvah’ (IsraelNN.com)

MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) said Monday that he would probably run with the new Hatikvah party in the next national elections.  Hatikvah targets secular nationalists, and recently made its presence felt by setting up a protest tent across from the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.

Speaking from the protest tent, Eldad said “It would have been better if we could have united the Right, but we did not succeed in uniting the right today.”  As the nationalist camp is not united, he said, Hatikvah fills the gap left by the NU/NRP, which many secular voters consider too religious, and by Likud, which nationalists consider too centrist. And they did. After being exposed for covering for his people (not guilty of the break in mind you), Nixon resigned. Imagine if Nixon had been a democrat. Would that ever have happened? The shenanigans of Democrat Presidents going back to JFK's stolen election are wildly known (don't even get me started on Bill).

What made this left wing assault on America so damaging is the subsequent road America went down. Had it not been for Watergate, America- leery and distrusting of the GOP after Nixon's resignation - would never have elected a Democrat, an unknown peanut farmer to the office of the President. A man so out of his league, a man so incapable of the office of the President, that we are still suffering from his ineptitude. Imagine if Reagan had been President when the leader of one of our greatest allies in the Middle East, Iran, called upon the President for help. Imagine the course of history, if you will, if we had backed the Shah of Iran. Imagine what a different world this would be.

According to many Iranians, Carter practically pushed out the Shah and gave Iran to the Ayatollah Khomeini (much the way he relinguished control of the Panama Canal).

    I, Pencil

    • I, Pencil

      By Leonard Read

I am a lead pencil — the ordinary wooden pencil familiar to all boys and girls and adults who can read and write.

Writing is both my vocation and my avocation; that’s all I do.

You may wonder why I should write a genealogy. Well, to begin with, my story is interesting. And, next, I am a mystery-more so than a tree or a sunset or even a flash of lightning. But, sadly, I am taken for granted by those who use me, as if I were a mere incident and without background. This supercilious attitude relegates me to the level of the commonplace. This is a species of the grievous error in which mankind cannot too long persist without peril. For, as a wise man observed, “We are perishing for want of wonder, not for want of wonders.”

I, Pencil, simple though I appear to be, merit your wonder and awe; a claim I shall attempt to prove. In fact, if you can understand me — no, that’s too much to ask of anyone — if you can become aware of the miraculousness which I symbolize, you can help save the freedom mankind is so unhappily losing. I have a profound lesson to teach. And I can teach this lesson better than can an automobile or an aeroplane or a mechanical dishwasher because-well, because I am seemingly so simple.

Simple? Yet, not a single person on the face of this earth knows how to make me. This sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? Especially when it is realised that there are about one and one-half billion of my kind produced in the USA. each year.

Pick me up and look me over. What do you see? Not much meets the eye — there’s some wood, lacquer, the printed labelling, graphite lead, a bit of metal, and an eraser. Just as you cannot trace your family tree back very far, so is it impossible for me to name and explain all my antecedents. But I would like to suggest enough of them to impress upon you the richness and complexity of my background.

My family tree begins with what in fact is a tree, a cedar of straight grain that grows in Northern California and Oregon. Now contemplate all the saws and trucks and rope and the countless other gear used in harvesting and carting the cedar logs to the railroad siding. Think of all the persons and the numberless skills that went into their fabrication: the mining of ore, the making of steel and its refinement into saws, axes motors; the growing of hemp and bringing it through all the states to heavy and strong rope; the logging camps with their beds and mess halls the cookery and the raising of all the foods. Why, untold thousands of persons had a hand in every cup of coffee the loggers drink!

The logs are shipped to a mill in San Leandro, California. Can you imagine the individuals who make flat cars and rails and railroad engines and who construct and install the communication systems incidental thereto? These legions among my antecedents.

Consider the millwork in San Leandro. The cedar logs are cut into small, pencil-length slats less than one-fourth of an inch in thickness. These are kiln dried and then tinted for the same reason women put rouge on their faces. People prefer that I look pretty, not a pallid white. The slats are waxed and kiln dried again. How many skills went into the making of the tint and the kilns, into supplying the heat, the light and power, the belts, motors, and all the other things a mill requires? Sweepers in the mill among my ancestors? Yes, and included are the men who poured the concrete for the dam of a Pacific Gas & Electric Company hydroplant which supplies the mill’s power!

Don’t overlook the ancestors present and distant who have a hand in transporting sixty carloads of slats across the nation from California to Wilkes-Barre!

      Complicated Machinery

Once in the pencil factory — $4,000,000 in machinery and building, all capital accumulated by thrifty and saving parents of mine — each slat is given eight grooves by a complex machine, after which another machine lays leads in every other slat, applies glue, and places another slat atop — a lead sandwich, so to speak. Seven brothers and I are mechanically carved from this “wood-clinched” sandwich.

My “lead” itself — it contains no lead at all — is complex. The graphite is mined in Ceylon. Consider these miners and those who make their many tools and the makers of the paper sacks in which the graphite is shipped and those who make the string that ties the sacks and those who put them aboard ships and those who make the ships. Even the lighthouse keepers along the way assisted in my birth — and the harbour pilots.

The graphite is mixed with clay from Mississippi in which ammonium hydroxide is used in the refining process. Then wetting agents are added such as sulfonated tallow — animal fats chemically reacted with sulphuric acid. After passing through numerous machines, the mixture finally appears as endless extrusions — as from a sausage grinder — cut to size, dried, and baked for several hours at 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase their strength and smoothness the leads are then treated with a hot mixture which includes candelilla wax from Mexico, paraffin wax, and hydrogenated natural fats.

My cedar receives six coats of lacquer. Do you know all of the ingredients of lacquer? Who would think that the growers of castor beans and the refiners of castor oil are a part of it? They are. Why, even the processes by which the lacquer is made, a beautiful yellow, involves the skills of more persons than one can enumerate!

Observe the labelling. That’s a film formed by applying heat to carbon black mixed with resins. How do you make resins and what, pray, is carbon black? My bit of metal — the ferrule — is brass. Think of all the persons who mine zinc and copper and those who have the skills to make shiny sheet brass from these products of nature. Those black rings on my ferrule are black nickel. What is black nickel and how is it applied? The complete story of why the centre of my ferrule has no black nickel on it would take pages to explain.

Then there is my crowning glory, inelegantly referred to in the trade as “the plug,” the part man uses to erase the errors he makes with me. An ingredient called “factice” is what does the erasing. It is a rubber-like product made by reacting rape seed oil from the Dutch East Indies with sulphur chloride. Rubber, contrary to the common notion, is only for binding purposes. Then, too, there are numerous vulcanizing and accelerating agents. The pumice comes from Italy, and the pigment which gives “the plug” its colour is cadmium sulphide.

      No One Knows

Does anyone wish to challenge my earlier assertion that no single person on the face of this earth knows how to make me?

Actually, millions of human beings have had a hand in my creation, no one of whom even knows more than a very few of the others. Now, you may say that I go too far in relating the picker of a coffee berry in far off Brazil and food growers elsewhere to my creation; that this is an extreme position. I shall stand by my claim. There isn’t a single person in all these millions, including the president of the pencil company, who contributes more than a tiny, infinitesimal bit of know-how. From the standpoint of know-how the only difference between the miner of graphite in Ceylon and the logger in Oregon is in the type of know-how. Neither the miner nor the logger can be dispensed with any more than can the chemist at the factory or the worker in the oil field-paraffin being a by-product of petroleum.

Here is an astounding fact: Neither the worker in the oil field nor the chemist nor the digger of graphite or clay nor any who mans or makes the ships or trains or trucks nor the one who runs the machine that does the knurling on my bit of metal nor the president of the company performs his singular task because he wants me. Each one wants me less, perhaps, than does a child in the in first grade. Indeed, there are some among this vast multitude who never saw a pencil nor would they know how to use one. Their motivation is other than me. Perhaps it is something like this: Each of these millions sees that he can thus exchange his tiny know-how for the goods and services he needs or wants. I may or may not be among these items.

      No Master Mind

There is a fact still more astounding: The absence of a master mind, of anyone dictating or forcibly directing these countless actions which bring me into being. No trace of such a person can be found. Instead, we find the Invisible Hand at work. This is the mystery to which I earlier referred.

It has been said that “only God can make a tree.” Why do we agree with this? Isn’t it because we realise that we ourselves could not make one? Indeed, can we even describe a tree? We cannot, except in superficial terms. We can say, for instance, that a certain molecular configuration manifests itself as a tree. But what mind is there among men that could even record, let alone direct, the constant changes in molecules that transpire in the life span of a tree? Such a feat is utterly unthinkable!

I, Pencil, am a complex combination of miracles: a tree, zinc, copper, graphite, and so on. But to these miracles which manifest themselves in Nature an even more extraordinary miracle has been added: the configuration of creative human energies-millions of tiny know-hows configurating naturally and spontaneously in response to human necessity and desire and in the absence of any human masterminding! Since only God can make a tree, I insist that only God could make me. Man can no more direct these millions of know-hows to bring me into being than he can put molecules together to create a tree.

The above is what I meant when writing, “If you can become aware of the miraculousness which I symbolise, you can help save the freedom mankind is unhappily losing.” For, if one is aware that these know-hows will naturally, yes, automatically, arrange themselves into creative and productive patterns in response to human necessity and demand — that is, in the absence of governmental or any other coercive masterminding — then one will possess an absolutely essential ingredient for freedom: a faith in free men. Freedom is impossible without this faith.

Once a government has had a monopoly of a creative activity such, for instance, as the delivery of the mails, most individuals will believe that the mails could not be efficiently delivered by men acting freely. And here is the reason: Each one acknowledges that he himself doesn’t know how to do all the things incident to mail delivery. He also recognises that no other individual could do it. These assumptions are correct. No individual possesses enough know-how to perform a nation’s mail delivery any more than any individual possesses enough know-how to make a pencil. Now, in the absence of a faith in free men — in the unawareness that millions of tiny know-hows would naturally and miraculously form and cooperate to satisfy this necessity — the individual cannot help but reach the erroneous conclusion that mail can be delivered only by governmental “masterminding.”

If I, Pencil, were the only item that could offer testimony on what men can accomplish when free to try, then those with little faith would have a fair case. However, there is testimony, galore; it’s all about us and on every hand. Mail delivery is exceedingly simple when compared, for instance, to the making of an automobile or a calculating machine or a grain combine or a milling machine or to tens of thousands of other things. Delivery? Why, in this area where men have been left free to try, they deliver the human voice around the world in less than one second; they deliver an event visually and in motion to any person’s home when it is happening; they deliver 150 passengers from Seattle to Baltimore in less than four hours; they deliver gas from Texas to one’s range or furnace in New York at unbelievably low rates and without subsidy; they deliver each four pounds of oil from the Persian Gulf to our Eastern Seaboard — halfway, around the world — for less money than the governments charges for delivering a one-ounce letter across the street!

The lesson I have to teach is this: Leave all creative energies uninhibited. Merely organise society to act in harmony with this lesson. Let society’s legal apparatus remove all obstacles the best it can. Permit these creative know-hows freely to flow. Have faith that free men will respond to the Invisible Hand. This faith will be confirmed. I, Pencil, seemingly simple though I am, offer the miracle of my creation as testimony that this is a practical faith, as practical as the sun, the rain, a cedar tree, the good earth.
