Fellow Geordies

Love this podcast. Loads of information and entertainment this is a must listen to each week. Makes you want to go out and read all science fiction. These lads must do a ton of research to keep this show going each week for nearly a year now.

Starship Sofa is The One!

Brilliant, refreshing, thoughtful, funny - all of these apply to the Sofanauts. I greatly enjoy listening to the boys discussing Science Fiction in all its forms. Keep going guys! Sean K

The best fan podcast. Period.

This is, simply, the best podcast about science fiction literature around. Incredibly well researched and always entertaining. I've learned more about classic sci-fi from this podcast than any of my reading. Keep up the good work lads!

Sofa Blokes

Starship Sofa is one of the best podcasts out there on the Internet fullstop. This however will swell Tony and Kieron's heads far too much! Truth be told they are so enthusiastic that they make even authors you thought you didn't like very interesting indeed! Worthy praise is well deserved. Ted

STARSHIP SOFA

Tony and Ciaran have given me many hours of pleasure over this last year, by informing and reminding me of past authors. There humourous and irreverential handling of the sci-fi greats are truly welcome.

Starship Sofa

I would like to add my nomination for Starship Sofa. These guys do a brilliant job week by week. They have guided me back to authors I had forgotten, and introduced me to new ones, all in their humourous and entertaining style. They are passionate about communicating their love of Science Fiction, and are meticulous in their research so that each podcast is packed with information about the authors and the subjet of Science Fiction in general. Definitely my favourite podcast!

Starship Sofa - The Best Classic Science Fiction podcast

I'm nominating StarShipSofa (www.starshipsofa.com) for the 'Best Fan Podcast' category. Tony and Ciaran do an absolutely fantastic job for the fans of classic science fiction books and authors. The podcast started in 2006 and has been consistently excellent from the outset. Tony and Ciaran illuminate their chosen topic each week with informed presentation in their unique style. An author's key works are dicussed along with their biography, and the context they were written in. The guys have produced an episode a week without fail, consistently managing the in depth research neccessary. Even with authors I think I know about, they always offer surprising new nuggets of information. The episodes are often an hour or more, but never seem long on listening. Their easy presentation style means listening to StarShipSofa is like going down the pub and having a chat with a couple of mates over a pint or two. The StarShipSofa podcast now has an active Forum for the subscribers at www.starshipsofa.co.uk StarShipSofa even has its own Wikipedia page and a reading list created by fans of the podcast. The reading list itself is an amazing resource for good science fiction literature. They deserve an award for this unique, intelligent, entertaining, in depth coverage of classic science fiction.
