North Shore City's GIS viewer

An image from GIS.

Our award-winning Geographical Information System (GIS) has been updated with three new features.

With a simple tick of a box, it is now possible to view where road works are taking place in our city. The GIS shows their current status - whether lodged, approved, started or completed.

The spray and wind zone layers are also new GIS functions.

The spray zone layer highlights if a property is within the spray zone (reach) of any bodies of water. Distances are based on the type of water and the location of the property.

The wind zone layer will help determine the level of engineering a structure will require due to estimated wind pressure.

With the GIS viewer you can also:

  • find property and rates information;
  • view property and road boundaries;
  • view piped assets such as water pipes, manholes, hydrants, catchpits and valves;
  • search for information about piped assets;
  • view valuation data (2005 valuation)
  • view 2006 aerial photography (flown in January and February); and
  • prepare and print maps and property reports.

Once in the viewer, we suggest you take time to read the information in the 'help' section so you can get the most out of this service.
