Via mail or online. 1/25 (Friday, 15 Days) in Person. This is a two step process. The first vote narrows the candidates down to the top 2 or 3. Voters can participate in both the party caucuses and the presidential primary so long as they participate on behalf of the same party.

Connecticut has two deadlines: Jan 31 is deadline for new voters to have their application post-marked, but also the deadline by which the SOS must receive party enrollment forms for unaffiliated voters. If you miss that deadline, Feb. 4 is the in-person deadline for new voters and unaffiliated voters.
Check the Montana State website for more information. The caucuses are what county, not the primary
North Dakota has no voter registration, you only have to prove that you have been a resident for at least 30 days (since Jan. 6)
Rhode Island has a 'closed' or party primary system. This means that you may only vote in one party's primary. If you are registered as "unaffiliated" you may vote in the primary of any party you choose. Once you vote in a primary, however, you are considered a member of that party until and unless you "disaffiliate".
