Since City Council members have no problem leasing Fairmount Park land, I suggest that Comcast-Spectacor go to the Park Commission and ask to lease 25 acres across the street (FDR Park) so they can build their hotel complex there.

South Philly Council members Verna, Kenney and DiCicco have no problem destroying Fairmount Park land - they all voted to destroy our Burholme Park for economic reasons. They will have no problem taking out the golf course and lakes at FDR as long as it creates tax base and provides jobs, maybe they can build a large multi-story parking garage, too.

Sportsnet conspiracy

Comcast doesn't offer Sportsnet to DirecTV customers because they have Philadelphia politicians in their pockets. Comcast comes in and holds our teams hostage, and we pay the ransom every month. Our politicians reward them with a 10-year tax-free lease on prime real estate in Center City. We'll have to wait for Verizon FIOS to liberate us from Comcast. I'm throwing a parade that day, and you're all invited!
