Special Stitch: 
FRONT-POST DOUBLE CROCHET (FPDC) - YO, insert hook around the post of the dc in the row below, (from front to back then to the front of the work). The post of the stitch is laying across the top your hook. YO, pull up a loop. You now have 3 loops on your hook. Work the same as a normal double crochet stitch. YO, pull through 2 loops on hook, 2 times.

Size G Hook

Ch 4; work 9 dc in 4th ch from hk. Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (10 dc). Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 5 dc in same st as joining (6 dc). Ch 3, turn. Work dc in same st; work dc in ea of next 2 sts, work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, and 2 dc in top of previous ch 3. (9 dc). Ch 1, turn.

Sc in first dc, *ch 3, sc in next dc, repeat from * across ending sc in top of ch 3 at end of row.  Going up edge of dress, sl st in side of next dc sp, and then into next dc sp. To work wing, Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc, tr, ch 2, sl st in stop of tr for picot; ch 3, sl st into same dc sp. Sl st into same sp where head is joined and in next 3 dcs. Ch 7 for halo, skip 2 dc, sl st in next 3 dcs and into sp where head is joined; sl st into next dc sp. (opposite other wing). Ch 5, sl st in 3rd ch from hk for picot, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st; sl st in next dc sp going down other side, sl st to beg sc. Finish off; weave in ends.

Square Instructions:

Rnd 1: With right side of angel facing you, join red with a sc in center dc on top of head behind the halo. Ch 5, sc in tip of wing, ch 5, sc in sc of wing, ch 5, sc in sc at corner of dress, ch 5, skip 3 ch-3 lps (edge of angel), sc in next lp, ch 5, sc in sc at corner of dress, ch 5, sc in sc of wing, ch 5, sc in tip of wing, ch 5, join with sl st in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-5 lp, in next sc 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc (corner sp), *3 dc in next ch-5 lp, sc in next sc, 3 dc in next ch-5 lp, in next sc 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc (corner sp); rep from * twice more; 3 dc in last ch-5 lp, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, *dc in each dc to corner sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp, skip next dc; rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch-3.

Rnd 4: Repeat round 3. At end of round, finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 5: Join white with sl st in any ch-2 corner sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, *(dc in next dc, fpdc (See Special Stitch) around next dc, rep from * to next corner sp (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp); rep from ( ) around to last corner sp; 2 dc, ch 1, hdc in top of beg ch 3 (last ch-2 sp formed).

Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *(dc in next 3 dc's, fpdc (See Special Stitch) around fpdc of prev rnd, rep from * to corner sp, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner sp); rep from ( ) around to last corner sp, 2 dc, ch 1, hdc in top of beg ch 3 sp (last ch-2 sp formed).

Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *(dc in next 3 dc, fpdc around next dc in prev rnd, dc in next dc, fpdc (See Special Stitch) around fpdc of prev rnd, rep from * to corner sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner sp); rep from () around to last corner sp; 2 dc, ch 1, hdc in top of beg ch 3 (last ch-2 sp formed).

Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *(dc in next 3 dc, fpdc around next dc in prev rnd, dc in next dc, fpdc (See Special Stitch) around fpdc of prev rnd, rep from * to corner sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in corner sp); rep from () around to last corner sp; 2 dc, ch 1, hdc in top of beg ch 3 (last ch-2 sp formed). Finish off white and weave in ends.

Rnd 9-10: Join blue with sl st in any ch-2 corner sp; repeat round 3. At end of rnd 10, finish off and weave in ends.
