This purpose of this site is to inform the Scouts and Scouters of Western North Carolina of the events, interests and resources of the Daniel Boone Council, B.S.A. Courage, character, honesty, respect, and leadership are a few of the timeless values that Scouting has been teaching young people for almost 100 years. The Scouting experience prepares young people to meet various challenges, not only in times of crisis, but in everyday life.

Chimney Rock Park Announces Spring Cub andBoy Scout Programs

Greeting Scout Leaders,
 
Spring will be here before we know it, and we’re going to kick off the season with an exciting Boy Scout Day designed just for your Cub and Boy Scouts. Join us for an adventure your entire troop will enjoy. Check out the program topics listed below and prepare for an adventure! Not enough for you? Bring your tents and stay overnight beneath the stars on the Meadows in the Park.
 
When:            Saturday, May 10th 2008/Optional overnight camping Friday, May 9th
                        Check-in by 9:45am
What:               Programs will run from 10:00am until 12:30pm and include time for lunch.

Camp Daniel Boone to Host Wilderness First Aid Course

On May 2nd Camp Daniel Boone will host a weekend Wilderness First Aid Course. The program will be held at Vance Lodge beginning with check-in Friday evening and graduation SUnday afternoon. Recent Philmont changes now require every trek to have at least one wilderness first aid certified person in the crew.
