Three men are expected to survive after being stabbed outside The Guvernment nightclub early this morning.
The incident happened in a parking lot near the club around 2:20 a.m., near Queen Quay E. and lower Jarvis St.
Nightclub staff called 911, and paramedics found three victims in their 20s in a parking lot across the street.
They were rushed to hospital. One remains in serious, but stable, condition this morning, while the injuries to the other two men aren't considered serious, police said.
EMS officials said the first victim suffered two stabs to his left kidney.
Another was knifed in the right lung and in the arm, which pierced an artery.
The third was stabbed once in the stomach, and once in the lung. It isn't clear which of the three remains in serious condition.
Police roped off the parking lot, including part of Queen’s Quay E. from lower Jarvis to Richardson St.
Sgt. Randy Carter of 51 Division said they arrested three suspects. Those suspects have since been questioned and released.
Police are reviewing security tape today, and expect there won't be any arrests until they can speak with the three victims.
“This is a rough city,” Carter said. “There are a number of officers investigating and speaking with witnesses.”
Carter said investigators believe the three victims were unarmed at the time of the assault. He added that the attack happened shortly after the men left the nightclub.
