ABOUT
THIS SERVICE! While
there is no charge to search The Blade archive, you will be charged for
viewing the complete text of articles. This fee-based archive includes every
story, column and feature published since October 1, 1996, written or prepared
by a Blade staff writer or special writer. Graphics, maps, charts, photographs
are NOT included but are noted. The archive also includes news, sports and
business briefs as well as "Today's Log," "Real Estate Transfers," and the
"Death Notices" list of names. Blade stories published in only one edition
(city final, state final, single copy) or the Neighbors section are also
included. Corrections and clarifications are included as stand-alone stories
and as attachments to the original story.
Advertisements (including obituaries and classifieds), comics, wire stories
(Associated Press, Reuters, etc.), are NOT included.
If you plan to use the newspaper archive search frequently, you may wish
to review the billing options and set up an account. Establishing an account
makes it easier to use the archive, and through volume discounts, may be
more cost-effective.
If you cannot find what you need from either the toledoblade.com or fee-based
archive, you can visit the Local History and Genealogy Department of the
Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. It has a complete set of microfilm of
The Blade. For more information, call the public library at (419) 259-5233.
