Bennie K ベニー ケー is a Japanese hip hop duo that consists of vocalist Yuki and MC rapper CICO (with their manager and DJ, DJ High-Kick). The pair met in Los Angeles while Yuki was in Los Angeles and, decided to combine their talents and start a unit. Bennie K made their debut in January 2001 with the single Melody on the For Life Music label.

The duo have put out 5 full albums including Cube (2002), Essence (2003), Synchronicity (2004), Japana-rhythm (2005), The World (2007) and two mini albums. Japana-rhythm debuted at #1 on the Oricon charts when it was released.

Many of Bennie K’s song are a mix of Japanese and English and fans have raved about their live performances are with Yuki smooth vocals and Cico’s crisp rhymes. The duo also have had their music featured on Coca Cola Japan’s TV ads.

On February 20th, the duo will release their 13th single Monochrome モノクローム which is featured on new Japanese TV drama Bomb Bee men Binbo Danshi 貧乏男子　ボンビーメン (NTV)

The multi talented and beautiful Japanese actress and singer Erika Sawajiri 沢尻エリカ had a large number of TV commercial contracts before she nearly killed her career in her Closed Note meltdown. Though she lost some contracts, it is unlikely she will get any new ones, at least in the short term. Erika is still young though and has plenty of time to make a come back.

In addition to doing a mainstream music video for Japanese rap group DS455, beautiful Japanese AV star Maria Ozawa also appeared in a 2002 Japanese TV commercial for Morinaga’s 森永製菓株式会社, chocolate bar called DARS with Jpop superstar duo Kinki Kids. This ad which shows a love triangle features Maria while still a high school student and before she started her AV career.

Japanese actress and singer Yuko Asano 浅野ゆう子 has had a great career starting off as Jpop singer in the mid 1970s having 21 singles and 4 albums. The 47 year old star from Kobe in Hyogo prefecture subsequently turned to acting and has starred in over 75 TV dramas and 20 movies since the late 1980s. This year she has starred in TV Asahi’s Detective woman Mizuki 女刑事みずき Onna Keiji Mizuki and Byakkotai 白虎隊. For all her fans, we found some classic old Japanese TV commercials from the 1980s with a young and sexy Yuko.
