  • University of Notre Dame "A Day in the Life of a University Student" -  This event is on Friday 11 July from 9am to 1pm at the Sydney Campus of University of Notre Dame.  For further details please see http:///sydney.nd.edu.au or email sydney@nd.edu.au
  • AMEPP - Australian Medical Entry Preparation Program.   For further details, please see the Careers Notice Board.  Please note this course is not run by ACER which administers the UMAT.

  • Blue Mountains Hotel School - Free Information Seminars for interested students, family and friends as follows:  Monday 7 July at Novotel Olympic Park Homebush, Tuesday 8 July at Courtyard Marriott Hotel North Ryde, Wednesday 9 July at Novotel Northbeach Wollongong.  All seminars commence at 6.30pm and conclude at 8.30pm.  Bookings are essential - call Maree Burns on 9437 0300 or 1800 257 360. 2009 enrolment applications are currently being accepted.
  • Whitehouse Institute of Design - Open Days on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 August from 10am - 3pm.

Charles Sturt Unviersity - Communications (Year 12 Students):  An information session with representatives from CSU wil be taking place on Tuesday 24 June at 12.30pm in the Fellows Theatre.  If you are interested in studying Communications at university then this information session is a must!  For further details see Mr Scott.

UWS Campbelltown Day:  Students are invited to register for the UWS Day.  Details are available via the UWS website - http://www.uws.edu.au.  This is a day that introduces Year 12 students to life at university.

Deakin University Open Day:  Geelong campus Sunday 10 August 10am - 3pm, Warnambool Campus Sudney 17 August 10am - 2pm, Melbourne Campus Sunday 24 August 10am - 4pm.  For further information go to http:///deakin.edu.au.

Careers Testing - Years 10 & 11:  One-on-one interviews for Year 10 students have commenced.  Students have been notified of their appointment date and time via email to their student email account.  There is also a notice on the noticeboard in the Senior School Common Room and the Careers & Counselling Centre. 

Scholarships:  University scholarship applications are open at most universities.  To check, speak to Mr Scott or check university websites.

Cadetships:  Cadetships programs are now advertising for applicants. Students wishing to apply for a cadetship should contact Mr Scott in the Careers & Counselling Centre for more information.

Moore Stephens has launched their 2008 Cadetship Program.  Applications are now being accepted.  More information can be found on http://www.moorestephens.com.au.  The closing date for applications is Wednesday 25 June 2008.

Those students interested in pursuing a career in Property Development should see Mr Scott regarding a cadetship opportunity in this industry.

UMAT 2009:  Late registrations (late fee of $55 in addition to the registration fee) will be accepted up to 5pm Friday 20 Jun.  Students wishing to sit for UMAT must register at http://umatweb.acer.edu.au/.  For students considering studying Medicine in 2009 - the 2009 UMAT Information Booklet can now be downloaded from http://umat.web.acer.edu.au/

Careers and External Programs Noticeboard: The Careers and External Programs Department has a Notice Board located in the Senior School Student Common Room.  Students are urged to check this Notice Board regularly as it is one of the main ways in which information about options for life beyond Barker is distributed.  Students Should also be in the habit of checking their School email accounts for the same reason.
