Mulvey dealing with players' request
Thursday, 14 February 2008 14:17Labour Relations Commission chief executive Kieran Mulvey is today dealing with a request from the Cork senior footballers and hurlers to clarify the exact details and process of the proposed Binding Arbitration.
At least 12 representatives from the squads met last night and it is believed the players will hear from Mr Mulvey later today.
Should the players agree to enter the process, it may well get under way tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Gaelic Players Association have released a statement on behalf of the London football squad today, clarifying that overseas squads will be included in the Government awards scheme for inter-county players.
Contrary to recent reports, the GPA has reassured Exile players that they will be entitled to funding, and will not be excluded when the scheme is implemented at the end of the 2008 season.
