In line with Dell's direct business model, users will define the server configuration according to their needs, and produced with an exclusive ID number.

"The local manufacture of servers reinforces our commitment to and strengthens our partnership with corporate customers assuring an increased agility in product delivery both in Brazil and to other South-American countries, and also enables us to give our customers the famous Dell quality with more competitive costs by offering a more competitive pricing policy through reduced import duties and taxes," explained Steve Lawrence, President, Dell Computadores for Brazil and Mercosur.

In the first stage of the server line implementation, Dell will make available the PowerEdge 300 servers, which offer high performance, fast installation, and management and maintenance facilities; the PowerEdge 1400 servers, which deliver a performance and expandability degree to meet the needs of companies of all sizes; and the scalable PowerEdge 2400 servers, which can handle several workgroup functions, and is the perfect choice for database, Internet, e-mail, filing and printing applications. The models will meet the needs of small, medium-sized and large companies, regardless of the industry where they operate. The program is to launch eight new models this year.

The services are geared to companies that do not have their own IT teams or whose teams are involved in the company's strategic projects.
