Revolution Rewind: 2008 Open Tryouts
The Revolution held its annual open tryouts on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2008, under the close eye of Head Coach Steve Nicol, Assistant Coaches Paul Mariner and Gwynne Williams, and Director of Soccer Mike Burns.

We caught up with Revolution goalkeeper Brad Knighton, who earned his spot on the team as a result of last year's open tryouts. Brad explains a bit of the process he went through, and offers up some advice for this years' Revolution hopefuls.

The four Countdown to First Kick events will be taking place at the following venues:

  • Saturday, March 8, 2008 - Mansfield SportsPlex - Mansfield, Mass. - 3 p.m -6 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 9, 2008 - Suburban Athletic Club - Framingham, Mass. - 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 9, 2008 - South Shore Sports Center - Hingham, Mass.- 4-7 p.m.
Midnight Riders' New York Road Trip

The Midnight Riders, an independent supporters group of the Revolution, is organizing a Bus Trip to see the Revs take on rival the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Join other Revs fans for the Revs' only trip to New York of the 2008 regular season!


  • Date: Saturday, April 19
  • Cost: $55 for members and $75 for non-members (covers game ticket, bus driver tip and trip). Note: A single member can bring one person at his/her rate and someone with a family membership can bring up to four in total under that rate. Game tickets are only $21.
  • Deposit: $30.

Youth Sports Festival Feb 22-24

Attention Parents! Looking for a way to spend more quality time with your kids, encourage them to participate in their favorite sports, introduce them to new sports and get educated in proper athlete nutrition, conditioning and more?

The 2nd Annual New England Youth Sports Festival will take place at Gillette Stadium February 22-24th. This amazing event is a one-stop tour of New England's youth sports for boys and girls ages 6 to 18, their parents and coaches. Youth sports teams and organizations from the sports of soccer, football, baseball, softball, lacrosse basketball, ice and field hockey -- will provide skills training for all levels of young athletes and host educational workshops for parents, coaches and administrators. The Youth Sports Expo will showcase sports camps, facilities, organizations along with a retail sale.
