Get Started with Moka5 Engine™

These steps will help you get started using the Moka5 Engine™.

Step 1: Install Moka5 Engine

Download and run the Moka5 Engine installer.

Windows: The Moka5 Engine for Windows can be installed on any computer running Windows XP SP2. You will need a minimum of 1 GB of memory on your machine and you will need more if you are planning to run more than one LivePC at the same time. You can install the Moka5 Engine on the desktop or, if you want to carry your LivePCs with you, you can install onto a portable USB drive, such as a USB memory stick or an iPod.

Mac: The Moka5 Engine for Mac can be installed on any Intel based Apple computer running Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5. You will need to pre-install VMware Fusion 1.1. You will need a minimum of 1 GB of memory on your machine and you will need more if you are planning to run more than one LivePC at the same time. You can install the Moka5 Engine on the desktop or on a removable USB device.

Please note: The Moka5 Engine will not work inside a Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) such as VMware or Parallels.

Step 2: Choose LivePCs from the LivePC Library or Create your Own LivePC Image

The Moka5 Engine already comes with a default LivePC. In addition, our LivePC Library contains a number of LivePCs for you to use. Download times will vary based on size.

When you are ready to create your own LivePC, follow our step-by-step instructions on how to create LivePCs to share with others.

Step 3: Have Fun!

LivePCs are a virtual playground for you to enjoy! As you create and use LivePCs, join the discussion with other beta users and the Moka5 team in the Moka5 forum.
