How do I submit EPC work for IDP credit?

Each exercise/scenario is worth one IDP Training Unit for IDP interns. Once on the new page, as an intern, you can scroll down until you find the “Intern Reporting Form”. Clicking on the reporting form will bring you to the log-in page for reporting your credit. If you are an Associate Member of the AIA, you can enter your AIA number as your log-in ID. If you are an intern who is not an AIA member, you must enter the AIA number you were provided with by e-mail when you first logged onto the EPC. Please note that the number will not allow you to submit for credit for the first two weeks after you have received it. This is due to internal processing procedures.

Once you have logged in, check the box next to “self-report form” and click "continue". First, you will be asked to select the number of the chapter you are submitting. Then you must choose the section you completed. The sections correspond with the type of work you are submitting and are coded according to the following:

DCL: Design and Construction Liability
EBL: Evidence-Based Learning
ETH: Ethical Dilemma
EXE: Exercises
HSW: Health, Safety & Welfare

The levels A, B, and C stand for basic level, intermediate level and advanced level respectively. Once you have selected your section, you will use the “search” function to look up the name of the exercise you completed. If it is correct, you can move on to the reporting form. You will fill out the form and click “submit”. This form will then be processed to appear on your AIA transcript.

Submitting to NCARB
Fill out your NCARB Employment Verification Form 123 (www.ncarb.org) including the number of units completed in the EPC in the "Supplementary Education" column. Meet with your IDP supervisor and/or IDP mentor to review your work. Get your supervisor and mentor to sign this form to attest that you have achieved the appropriate level of competency to gain this credit. Attach a copy of your AIA transcript showing the EPC exercises you have completed to your NCARB Employment Verification Form 123 and send it in. Printing your transcript from your computer is an acceptable copy to submit to NCARB.
