Jeff Tambellini scored in the sixth round in the shootout, and the New York Islanders overcame another short-handed goal to beat the New York Rangers 4-3 on Tuesday night. Wade Dubielewicz, subbing for the second straight game for Rick DiPietro, made 27 saves through overtime and then turned aside five shooters in the tiebreaker.

Valiquette leads Rangers over Flyers

Coming on in relief of ineffective starting goalie Henrik Lundqvist, Steve Valiquette stopped 17 of 18 shots through overtime and then was perfect in the shootout for the New York Rangers, who beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 on Sunday.

Rangers down Canes for third win in a row

Brandon Dubinsky and Sean Avery scored first-period goals to lift the Rangers to a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, New York's third straight victory and sixth in eight games.
