Joe Thornton scored two goals in the first period, and the San Jose Sharks eliminated the Phoenix Coyotes from playoff contention with a 3-1 victory Sunday night.

Sharks beat Ducks, clinch Pacific title

Brian Boucher made 23 saves, and the San Jose Sharks wrapped up the Pacific Division title with a 3-1 victory Friday night over the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks.
