HISTORY OF PREPS PRO COMBINE
In its’ inaugural year, Preps Pro Combine hopes to become the pre-eminent Indiana High School football combine. The Indianapolis Colts have partnered with the Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) and the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) to make sure that Indiana football athletes have the best chance at playing football at the next level and are matched with the school that best suits their talents. With the help of Velocity Sports Performance, participants of the Preps Pro Combine will have the opportunity to be professionally tested.
WHAT CAN COLLEGE COACHES EXPECT FROM PREPS PRO COMBINE?
The Indianapolis Colts are designing an interface for college coaches to be able to login and quickly sort through Indiana football players so they can analyze, learn and contact the athlete. WHAT DRILLS WILL I BE GRADED ON?
- Bench Press - The athletes will bench press 135 or 185 pounds with correct form, as many times as possible by using a traditional bench press technique. Official count will be recorded by Velocity Sports Performance. Athletes will be docked if they are counted for not locking out, bouncing the weight off the chest and moving their buttock from the bench.
- Vertical Jump - Each athlete will attempt two jumps using the Vertec apparatus. Both scores will be recorded and the better of the two (2) scores recorded by Velocity Sports Performance. The vertical jump will be tested in the south end-zone loading dock area. Each athlete’s reach measurement will also be recorded at this station.
- Broad Jump - Athletes are required to jump forward from a standing position off both feet with the measurement taken from the back of the heel. Two jumps will be taken and recorded; the better of the two (2) scores will be reported by Velocity Sports Performance.
- 40 yard dash / 10 yard dash (split) - The athlete will start in the traditional three point stance and the timing starts on his movement and stops once his waist crosses the 40-yard marker. A 10-yard split time and the 40 yard time will be recorded by Velocity Sports Performance. This is electronically timed.
- Short Shuttle - The athlete will start in a traditional two point stance with their hand on the center line with timing starting when they sprint first to their Right, second attempt to the Left, touching the line and sprinting 10-yards and to the opposite side again touching the line and lastly sprinting past the original starting point with the timing stopping once the athletes waist passes the line. This is a hand time and will be recorded by Velocity Sports Performance.
- Three Cone Drill - The athlete will start in a traditional two point stance and start sprinting to and touching the first cone, turning around and sprint to and touching the starting cone. From there, the athlete will sprint around the second cone, to and around cone three and then sprinting back around cone two to the starting cone with the timing stopping once the athlete’s waist passes the line. This is a hand time and will be recorded by Velocity Sports Performance.
- Position Specific Drills - Athletes will be broken into position specific groups. Each group will run through a series of drills associated with their position and most often looked at by college recruiters. (Conducted by members of the IFCA)

at the combine. The time that you are emailed will be within

WHAT SURFACE WILL I BE RUNNING ON?
The surface that you will be participating on is known as ‘Field

on which a variety of different football shoes can be used.
We strongly suggest finding a similar surface near you where
you can test to see which shoe you prefer to use when running
your 40 yard dash, shuttles and participating in the position
