The Odd Couple: Clint and Harvey

graceisgone.jpg
Clint Eastwood is reportedly entering this year's Oscar race -- as a composer. Tom O'Neil of The Envelope says the two-time Best Director winner volunteered to write a new score for "Grace is Gone,'' a four-handkerchief, Iraq War-themed road movie that the Weinsteins bought for $4 million at Sundance. The ostensibly apolitical flick stars a terrific John Cusack as a Middle American who can't bear to tell his two young daughters that their solider mom has died in Iraq. Eastwood's score, which replaces an earlier one by Brit Max Richter, will supposedly be ready for the flick's showing at the New York Film Festival. It opens theatrically in early October.

Whoa! this is weird... Eastwood is a decent director, but the music in his films is kind of a joke.
