Where do I start? Guess one of the most embarrassing things ever was having to quickly redress when 16 and at my then b/f's house as we heard his Mum coming up the stairs. I readjusted on the bed, whilst he went over to his pc. His Mum came into the room to ask if we wanted a brew and anything to eat, when I suddenly noticed that he hadn't quite put himself away (ok…not at all actually). I know his Mum noticed…but try as I might, I could not get his attention. The minute she went downstairs I told him to take a quick look down, which he did, and nearly died…funny now…but not when you are 16!

Do you have anything to declare?

Wed 24 Mar 13:03:42
TMO/IanC - I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that!

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Check to see what time it is and whether I should be awake.

What was the first pop concert you went to?
I bet you put this one in on purpose! It was Cliff Richard.

What was the worst thing that you did as a child?
Accidentally cause my sister to split her lip open when a scientific experiment went wrong. I was seeing if wrapping a sari around her and pulling it would cause her to spin like a spinning top - it did - but I failed to make allowance for the trajectory when selecting the location for the experiment - and she collided with the window sill...

What is your favourite song?
Just one?! Impossible! It varies but would be something that lifts my spirits and/or soars - such as 'Feels Like I'm In Love' by Kelly Marie, 'Come What May' from Moulin Rouge, 'Peace In Our Time' by Cliff or 'Angel' by Lionel Ritchie.

What is your most treasured material possession?
The cross my mum made me in silver-smithing for my 18th birthday.

What is the best advice that you've ever received?
"Behaviour breeds behaviour."

What do you think of Bob Dylan?
I've only heard a couple of his songs, they are OK but I wouldn't rush out to buy the album as I tend to prefer female vocal in that kind of music.

When did you last cry, and why?
Last week when I seemed to have a million things to sort out at once (translation - I had PMT) and I was worried about the possible negative effects on my life of having a criminal record (for not having the right train ticket) if the world continues to move towards being a police state. Don't you just love hormones?

What characteristics do you think you've inherited from your parents?
My dad's good nature & awkwardness, my mum's 'ability to glamour people like the fairies did in legends' (her words whilst drunk, not mine!), her organisational skills & their mutual tendency to be self-sufficient and have a go at re-wiring the plug, building the cabinet, etc.

Are you afraid of failure?
No - but I'm afraid of never succeeding.

What are you like when you're drunk?
A bit more expressive - but generally, the more I drink, the more sensible I become. I'll be the only one on the dance floor stone cold sober - I don't like to dance when I'm drunk.

Which actor/actress would you have play yourself in a film?
Drew Barrymore.

Pick five words that describe yourself....
Optimistic, Enthusiastic, Loyal, Creative, Ethical.

Is there one piece of criticism that sticks in your mind?
"You know, you really ought to learn to take a complement, because I really do think you're pretty." - a big thank you to Hugh Coltman for that one, making a teenage ex-nerd realise that not every guy who flirts with her is doing it to tease her.

Do you believe in God?
Yes.

What is your most unpleasant characteristic?
Probably my temper, it's the flare then forget about it type - but people don't always know how to take that!

What is your greatest fear?
Supernatural nasties.

What ambitions do you still have to fulfil?
Loads! You can never have too many ambitions: Get published, make the best-sellers list, win an Oscar, win a Nobel prize, make the Honours List, get married, have kids, run my own internationally successful company, have a hit West-End musical, get into the Oxford Book of Quotations, own an entire valley that is turned into a beautiful and magical place - such as Portmeirion.

What do you never leave home without?
My door keys.

Who is your best male friend and your best female friend?
I'm not picking favourites - I have truly wonderful friends and I really appreciate them all!

Who would you most like to meet?
Diana Wynne-Jones.

What music would you like to have played at your funeral?
'The Happy Phantom' by Tori Amos.

When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see?
Everyone has their off days - but generally, when I've finished getting ready, yes - I do.

What is your favourite film?
Umm... like the songs - it varies! I'll say 'George of the Jungle' though.

If you had a million pounds (£1,000,000), what would you do with it?
Give some to my mum. Buy a place outside of London with half of it, rent it out & rent a flat in London. Use the interest from the remainder to fund my life as a writer/improviser/singer/therapist/business woman.

What first attracts you to a person of the opposite sex?
Their smile.

What was your favourite subject at school?
Maths.

If you could spend the night with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why?
I know it probably sounds crazy - but if I had one night - and just one night - with anyone in the world, then I'd probably rather spend it talking to someone interesting. I can't see myself sleeping with someone unless I'm going to be able to repeat the experience! ;o)

So, on that basis Paul McKenna or Derren Brown, so that we could talk about hypnosis, NLP, psychology & so on as well as more general stuff & I would hopefully learn something as well as have a fun time talking to them.

What is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?
Spent twenty minutes unwittingly talking at total cross-purposes with cringe-worthy results to a guy I later dated. He was talking about another girl at the time - but everything he said sounded like he was referring to me - "I love it when it's misty, it's so romantic... There's this girl I like.. and I'm not sure but I think that she might like me..." - At least I saw the funny side!

Do you have anything to declare?
"It's lunchtime."

First thing in the morning? Get out of bed (is that too literal?)

First pop concert? Embarrassingly, The Shadows! (far too long ago, as well – my father took me, I didn’t go by choice!)

Worst thing as a child? I dunno – probably throwing pet cat downstairs after being scratched. Cat was fine.

Favourite song? A few current favourites – “Hazy Jane 2” (Nick Drake), “Life On Mars” (his Bowie-ness), some old Marillion stuff (re-visiting adolesence!). Not really my scene though, so if I can be allowed another genre instead of “song”, it’s currently Morton Feldman’s 2nd string quartet

Treasured material possession? Normally my signed Stockhausen CD, but currently my signed copy of Spalding Gray’s novel “Impossible Vacation”

Best advice? If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all…

Bob Dylan? He’s okay…

Last cry? When I found out Spalding Gray had died

Parental characteristics? Argumentativeness

Afraid of failure? No

When drunk? Less melancholy. But doesn’t happen often, and may not again now I’m diabetic!

Actor/actress playing yourself? Wallace Shawn

Pick five words that describe yourself.... “god’s gift to women (joke)”. I dunno, Intellectual. Pedantic. Selfless. Funnyish. Antidisestablishmentarianist.

Criticism that sticks in your mind? I don’t let it stick in my mind; if there’s anything to learn from criticism, learn it, forget the criticism and move on. If there’s nothing to learn, then the criticism has no validity, so isn’t worth remembering.

Do you believe in God? No

Unpleasant characteristic? Aggressive pedantry! (can sometimes be too forceful correcting people’s grammar, spelling, factual inaccuracy etc.)

Greatest fear? That progressively declining educational standards across the world become the guiding principle.

Ambitions? Conduct an orchestra. Start my am-dram group. Go to New York. (will be doing at least one this year, if not two). Others too numerous to mention….

Never leave home without? House keys! Need to be able to get back in, obviously!

Best male / female friends? Male – Chad Stetson (that’s not his real name, believe it or not!). Female – I’m pleading the fifth here.

Who would you most like to meet? Wallace Shawn (for the first time). Emmanuelle Beart (for the second time).

Funeral music? Meat Loaf – “Bat Out Of Hell”

When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see? ‘s’okay!

Favourite film? North By Northwest!!!! (ah, perfection). But, currently really obsessed by a Hungarian film called “Werckmeister Harmonies”. The greatest use of film as an art-form I’ve seen for MANY a long year, with every single shot a work of art in itself, and a movie that will linger in the memory for all time (wouldn’t recommend it as everyone’s cuppa, mind!).

If you had a million pounds (£1,000,000), what would you do with it? Conduct an orchestra. Make the short film (properly) I’m currently writing. Start my am-dram group.

What first attracts you to a person of the opposite sex? Above average brains and breasts, in that order!

Favourite subject at school? English Lit.

If you could spend the night with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why? Ah, so many possibilities – at the moment, probably Salma Hayek.

Most embarrassing thing you've ever done? Ah, without a doubt, a publicity exercise for a panto I was a few years ago – the group had a press-call with the local Mayor, so we all had to go in costume to turn on the town centre’s Christmas lights with the Mayor. Then wander round town in costume handing out flyers for the show. Dressed as panto dame doing this, with all the lads from the local comp coming and asking “can I squeeze yer tits”, was nothing less than humiliating. And the b**tards from the local press didn’t even bother turning up to get the photo. The whole exercise only generated extra ticket sales to the tune of THREE people, and to this day I wonder why I bothered going, and shudder at the memory of it all!!!!!!!

Do you have anything to declare? Four hundred and twenty eight for seven. Your turn to bat.

I can't help my emotions BW!

Actually, don't like putting "Big Wednesday" in full all the time because I don't want to bore people by banging on about our weekly improvisation show at the Camden Head, near Angel tube, which start at 8:00pm, tickets only £5.00. It would be even worse if I kept plugging the Big Wednesday website.

BW

Thur 25 Mar 13:18:31
No hard feelings, Jonathan sadly, that's why it was stressful...

You do a weekly impovisation show called 'Big Wednesday'? You should tell people about that, where is it, is there a website?

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Say 'auggh....', roll over, fall asleep again.

What was the first pop concert you've been to?
I haven't been to one yet...

What is the worst thing you did as a child?
Umm...Oh yeah!We (friends, sister) go-carted in the street and almost hit a woman who then told our parents. Oh, I just thought of another one: when I was younger, I made fun of my parents when they were drunk....Not that nice, I guess...

What is your favorite song?
Hmm...that's a hard one, but it's probably 'Suicide is Painless' or '100 Years'. Oh, and mabye 'The Wand'. Oh yes, and 'Extreme Ways', and 'Floor Filler'.

What is your most treasured material posession?
Probably that globe/ornament thing a friend gave me when I left CA, or maybe my ipod.

What is the best advice that you've ever received?
Don't stop belieevveeennnn.....(Journey) ;)

When did you last cry, and why?
Today...I had a lot of dental work. It was painful, and dental work always makes me really nervous. I have to take Valium to calm me down.

What characteristics do you think you've inherited from your parents?
I got mom's stature, as well as Dad's sense of humour and ADD.

Are you afraid of failure?
Yes, I am. I'm trying to change that.

What are you like when you're drunk?
I'm not that old!!!!

Which actor/actress would you have play yourself in a film?
Personally, I'd like to play myself. I would really like to be an actress someday.

Pick five words that describe yourself....
Insane, curious, annoying, fun, living
(life to the fullest)

Do you believe in God?
Hmm...that's a toughie. I was brought up in a household where although we celebrated religious holidays like Christmas and Easter, we never went to church or CCD or any stuff like that. However, I was educated about Christian religion (my dad's family is catholic, and he was brought up catholic) and I don't know if I believe all those stories in the bible. I like the wisdom Buddisim (sp?) teaches, though. I think religion is sort of, well, unnecessary. I mean, some religious stories were told to explain things we know today because of science. And, the messages stories convey are sort of like morals I think the messages are good, though, and thats why I like Buddism (sp?).

What is your most unpleasant characteristic?
My family would say my constant curiosity. I ask some stupid questions :)

What is your greatest fear?
Claustrophobic spaces (closets, coffins), the inability to move, and dying. You know, dying has been on my mind for a while now. I keep thinking 'What if when I die, I'm just frozen, I can think, but I can't move.' I think that it would be horrible for me because I am claustrophobic, and it would be horrible if they put me in a box and buried me. It would be my worst fears (clastrophobic spaces and the inability to move)realized.

What ambitions do you still have to fulfil?
A lot of 'em. I want to be an actress, write novels, have an amazing bf and finally husband, I want a house by the beach, a home theater, and a family. Plus I want to adopt kids and animals.

What do you never leave home without?
A sense of humour...I need it!

Who is your best male friend and your best female friend?
Nick/Max/Julia/Monica/Elizabeth/sorry, i couldn't pick one!!

Who would you most like to meet?
I dunnoh...Matt Damon, Orlando Bloom, Angelina Jolie, J.K. Rowling....I don't know, there's a lot!

What music would you like to have played at your funeral?
'Suicide is Painless'...over, and over again.

When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see?
Yeah, 'cept when i am just waking up. But after i get all the makeup on and stuff, i like me.

What is your favorite film??
SO many!! Look these up, they're amazing: The Wizard of Oz: Return to Oz, the Bourne Identity, the Bourne Supremacy, and the Bourne Ultimatum, M*A*S*H, Pirates of the Carribean, the Sound of Music, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and many others...

If you had a million pounds (£1,000,000), what would you do with it?
Oh, is this site British or something?? Umm...buy a laptop, a home theater, a video ipod, stuff for my dog, my sister, and me, and just a bunch of things my family and i want.

What first attracts you to a person of the opposite sex?
It's either the eyes or the smile.

What was your favourite subject at school?
I'm in school, and it's either English or Literature(I love to write, and i'm pretty good at it, too):)

If you could spend the night with anyone in the world, who would you choose and why?
Right now...it's between Orlando Bloom, Daniel Craig, and Hugh Laurie.

What is the most embarassing thing you've ever done?
Oh god...SO many...Let's see...when I clapped at the wrong time during that play (the only one), when I read the most HORRIBlE pieces aloud to my class...and a host of others.

Do you have anything to declare?
Yes. I am undoubtly amazing. Look out, Mothman!!!
