The Ministry of Justice ensures justice to the Kuwaiti society under a facilitated system, in which all feel that their lives, liberties and properties are secure. In addition to preserving public security, the Ministry also takes on the responsibility of establishing a stabilised system for real estate ownership.

The Ministry carries out the following tasks:

- Organising the necessary means for dispute settlement presented to different types of courts;
- Intimation of public cases via public prosecution;
- Supervision over prison and other places in which panel actions are executed;
- Presentation of legal experience and support to various national bodies;
- Procedures of official declaration for legal documents, initiatory pleading, judgement execution, implementation bonds, accepting related sums, depositing and spending them in accordance with the provisions of the law;
- Procedures of real estate registration, documentation, attestation, date entry and checking of trading books;
- Cooperating with Arab, Islamic, international countries and organisations in legal and judicial fields; and
- Preparation of studies and researches concerned with human rights, holding conferences and scientific sessions in legal and judicial fields, and reviewing relation case applications, names correction and investigating those applications.
