Why is Raj Thackeray miffed at the Bachchans?

Bangalore: Is Raj Thackeray miffed at being left out of the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding?

Most definitely so, if one were to consider media reports about the "real reasons" for the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader's recent tirades against Bollywood's Shahenshah.

News reports in the Mumbai media claim that the real issue between the breakaway Sena leader and the Big-B is that while the Bachchan family invited Balasaheb Thackarey and family to the Abhi-Ash wedding last April, a similar invite did not go out to Raj, who was upset that his cousin and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav representated the Sena chief at the function.

A report in the DNA newspaper, quoting unnamed sources in the MNS camp, claimed that Raj was, in fact, a diehard fan of Amitabh Bachchan and even had a photograph of Bachchan and wife Jaya on his study table while he was graduating from the JJ School of Arts.

The MNS chief also named his son Amit because of his respect for Amitabh Bachchan, whom he considered next to his uncle Balasaheb when it came to idolising.

The newspaper quoted another senior Sena leader to say that things got worse between the Bachchans and Raj when Amitabh Bachchan shared the stage with Balasaheb at the launch of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's son's debut music album at a recent show at Bandra.

This probably sent across the clear message to Raj Thackeray that when it came to Shiv Sena politics, it was Balasaheb who held sway at the Bachchan household in Jalsa.
