Overview

The NTEA is committed to protecting the privacy of the individual site user. At this time, only business-related information is collected and used by this Web site to enhance the user's overall site experience. By using the Web site, the user consents to the collection and use of additional business-related information should an application require additional data collection (e.g., registration forms, news or job postings, etc.). In the future, any changes made to this privacy policy will be posted on this page so that users are always aware of what information is collected, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed.

How information is collected and used

Information collected on NTEA.com is business-related in nature. This information is usually needed in order to contact individuals about transaction status and verification of employment at an NTEA member company. Session Cookies (see below) are populated with company information from our business system when a member company employee logs in to NTEA.com. This information is used only when the user wants to engage in a transaction, such as posting a job opening. To facilitate speedy completion of form information, certain form fields are pre-populated. User information is also used to track site usage patterns.

Sessions Cookies

NTEA.com utilizes "Session Cookies" to track an individual's affiliation with a dues-paying member company. Users must configure their browsers to accept cookies if participation in the "Members Only" area is desired. It is important to note that session cookies are TEMPORARY and last only the duration of a user's browsing session. In other words, when a user exits their browser, the session cookie is deleted with NO information being permanently stored on the user's computer. Information stored in a session cookie is business-related and originates from our association management business system. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but a user's browser can be configured to not accept cookies.

Cookie Files

NTEA.com utilizes the very common cookie file technique to help us manage the site's usage patterns. This cookie file is a very small text file that is saved to a folder designated in your browser's setup. Cookie files are VERY common for Web sites to utilize. It allows the Web site administrator to determine how many unique users have visited the site and which pages are most popular. Absolutely no personal information is stored in cookie files. There is a reference to a unique ID in our database that helps us track usage and page popularity. There may be times when some nonpersonal information is requested of the visitor (e.g., company type). Even in these instances no personal data will be collected and stored in a cookie file.

Public Forums

Discussion groups and message boards will be available to users of the site. Any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and users should exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information.

No disclosure of member information

Site users' business-related information is not sold, traded, or rented by NTEA to other parties. Aggregate statistics about visitors, traffic patterns, and related site information may be provided to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics do not include any personally identifying or contact information. Account information may be released when, in good faith, such release is believed to be reasonably necessary to (i) comply with the law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any user agreements, or (iii) to protect the rights, property, or safety of the association, users, or others.
