WCW Monday Nitro - featured an opening segment featuring still photos from the Kevin Sullivan / Brian Pillman, Randy Savage / Ric Flair, and Hulk Hogan / Giant matches the previous night at SuperBrawl VI; included Gene Okerlund interviewing racecar driver Steve Grissom about the WCW car; featured Okerlund interviewing the new WCW World Champion Ric Flair, with Woman & Miss Elizabeth, about his title win the night before and his title defense the following week against Randy Savage with Elizabeth explaining why she turned on Savage at SuperBrawl:
Randy Savage pinned Hugh Morrus at 4:50 after hitting two flying elbowsmashes; prior to the bout, it was announced Savage would get a rematch against WCW World Champion Ric Flair the following week on Nitro; during the match, it was announced the "Baywatch" episode taped last July during Bash at the Beach, which featured Hulk Hogan, Savage, Flair, and Kevin Sullivan would be airing soon; after the bout, Savage went up to drop a third elbow but Morrus rolled out to the floor, with Savage then grabbing the mic and saying the referee was right - he didn't want Morrus, he wanted Flair

Chris Benoit fought Randy Savage to a no contest when Savage came out in all black street clothes and was interviewed by Eric Bischoff in the aisle, with Bischoff showing Savage footage of WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, the Giant, and Elizabeth on the set of Hogan's "3 Ninjas" movie, with Hogan forcing Elizabeth to tell Savage she loved him and yelling at her to cooperate and not embarass him; Hogan "fired" director Sean McNamara during the clip and replaced him with the Giant, and made himself the producer; during the segment, Elizabeth said Hogan ruined her life twice; Bischoff said he wanted Savage to see the footage to prove Elizabeth was legit; after the footage, Savage said he realized friendships, relationships, and marriage were fragile before saying "But Hulk Hogan, life is fragile;" Savage then turned around and walked backstage as the show came to a close

Jeff Jarrett pinned Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) in a No DQ match at 13:48 when Arn Anderson, who came ringside late in the bout seemingly to be in Jarrett's corner, dropped Jarrett with a DDT on the floor and rolled him in the ring - accidentally putting him on top of Benoit moments after Kevin Sullivan interfered and broke a wooden chair over Benoit's head; moments before the finish, Konnan and Hugh Morrus came out and attempted to kidnap Woman but she fought them off; after the bout, all the participants and Anderson walked by Gene Okerlund as he attempted to interview them in the aisle but Steve McMichael & Debra came out, with McMichael saying Woman had made Benoit weak in the knees and Debra insulted both Benoit and Woman
WCW Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash & Scott Hall defeated Meng & the Barbarian at 11:54 when Nash pinned the Barbarian with a kick to the midsection and the powerbomb after avoiding a boot to the face; Jimmy Hart was in the challengers' corner and Syxx was in the champions' for much of the bout until Syxx chased Hart backstage with his own megaphone; the challengers played the subtle heels for the bout and the champions played the subtle babyfaces; Nick Patrick was the referee for the match
WCW US Championship Tournament Finals: Eddie Guerrero pinned Diamond Dallas Page with the Frog Splash to win the title at 15:21 after Syxx, WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash came out with Hall dropping DDP with the Outsider's Edge as Syxx distracted the referee; after the bout, Guerrero fought off all three members of the nWo before he was eventually triple teamed and had the belt stolen by Syxx
Lex Luger pinned the Giant at 13:23 with a low blow and several blows with a baseball bat left in the ring by Sting moments earlier; late in the bout, Nick Patrick came out to replace injured referee Mark Curtis, with Syxx appearing moments later to prevent Luger from putting the Giant in the Torture Rack; Sting then came through the crowd, shoved Patrick down with his baseball bat, left it in the middle of the ring, and went to both Luger and the Giant and told them something before leaving ringside (the Giant's 2nd pinfall loss)
Roddy Piper defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Ted Dibiase) in a non-title match via submission with the sleeper at 15:27 after avoiding a punch, moments after Piper fought off an interfering Giant; prior to the bout, Hogan was escorted to the ring by Elizabeth and Vincent; after the match, Piper fought off Hall & Nash before leaving ringside and celebrating with his son Colt at the entrance stage; moments later, the Giant and Hogan argued in the aisle with Giant blaming Hogan, Hall, and Nash for not watching his back when he watched theirs and Hogan blamed the Giant for "dropping the ball" (Born to Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story)
