NEW RELEASE: Cobra Starship "The Church Of Hot Addiction"
The denomination of "The Church Of Hot Addiction" is unclear, but it's certainly one of the more reformed branches. In fact, it's not a church at all, but rather a dingy Mexican den of sin with booze, babes, gambling and co-ed mud wrestling. Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta eventually tires of the debauchery, but gets sidetracked on the way out when he meets a beautiful, lifesize rabbit prostitute. The hot sex leads to a relationship and eventually a wedding (Jewish, no less) and family life. --> watch "The Church Of Hot Addiction" (YouTube)

NEW RELEASE: Young Love "Find A New Way"
Pity the boy in the cubicle; The one who thinks his attractive female coworker will find his blinking competition to be an undeniable turn-on. Little does he know that all it takes to get her hot-and-bothered is watching Young Love frontman Dan Keyes perform this electro/pop/rock track. Somehow, she is able to summon forth a projection of said performance to take her away to that more erotic headspace — and more literally, to the bathroom for a quick striptease as she lets the footage cover her body— before she's forced to return to the sterile office environment. --> watch "Find A New Way"

NEW RELEASE: Juiceboxxx "Thunder Jam III"
Scrawny white boy. Rapping. He's wearing what looks like an Alf pajama top and a pair of boxers. His name is Juiceboxx. Yes, it should be terrible, but it's not. In fact, it's a blast. The song has a certain charm thanks to its scrappy DIY vibe, while the video matches it thanks to the use of a Canon D'Mark II still camera and the vintage Mac graphics program MacPaint to create the animations. --> watch "Thunder Jam III"

NEW RELEASE: +44 "Chapter 13"
While Tom Deluge unleashes a series of overwrought and cinematic videos for his post Blink-182 project Angels & Airwaves, former bandmates Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker have followed a less ambitious video path with their new band, +44. The debut video for "When Your Heart Stops Beating" was a technically impressive effort directed by Liz Friedlander that did exactly what it was meant to do: Introduce a new band and cement their connection with the kids. "Chapter 13" also has a simple concept — it's a combination of live and behind-the-scenes footage — but director Jason Bergh delivers on its goal to showcase a working band. --> watch "Chapter 13"

Wasting Time With Michel Gondry
If you've ever wanted to see director Michel Gondry solve a Rubik's Cube with his feet, well, today is your lucky day.
My buddy Greg says this video is in reverse and has all sorts of evidence to back it up. I think Michel is a genius and has dexterous feet. Perhaps we're both right?

NEW RELEASE: Damien Rice "9 Crimes"
Director Jamie Thraves pays tribute to the classic French art flick The Red Balloon in this video for this haunting piano ballad from Damien Rice and his frequent collaborator, singer Lisa Hannigan. Perhaps sensing that America's thirst for red balloons was sated by Nena, the "9 Crimes" video is apparently destined to skip the TV airwaves in the U.S. That's a small crime indeed, since it's a boldly strange and unconventional video. Thanks to that interweb, however, anybody can check out the sad fate of Hannigan's balloon head. And, we can all look forward to a video for "Rootless Tree," which is reportedly the next planned single off Rice's new album, 9. --> watch "9 Crimes" in Real or Windows Media

NEW RELEASE: Blue October "Into The Ocean"
Blue October frontman Justin Furstenfeld is both an audience member and a performer in an old-timey stage portrayal of a hunt for the great White Whale. The empty seat next to the spectating Furstenfeld that's reserved for his wife presumably explains what the singer is searching for in both the stage show and the song lyrics. --> watch "Into The Ocean"
