Mumbai, February 15: The Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Friday derided RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for his decision to perform 'Chhat puja' in Mumbai, saying people of Maharashtra will give a response when the time comes.

Speaking to reporters at Ranchi on Thursday, the RJD leader said that if possible, he would go to Mumbai to perform Chhat Puja.

Responding to Prasad's comments, MNS spokesperson and former MLC Shishir Shinde said that "people of Maharashtra will respond when the time comes. You will also see action from MNS."

"Anyway, Chhat puja is still a long way. But Maharashtra and MNS will respond to what he (Lalu) has said," Shinde said, expressing his resentment over the remarks by the RJD leader who had recently termed MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a "child in politics".

Lalu had condemned the "provocative and unconstitutional" statements of Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, saying people of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand staying in Mumbai were afraid of venturing out of their homes.

After dithering for over a week, Maharashtra Government on February 13 arrested Raj Thackeray, whose comments against north Indians had sparked off violent incidents and kept the financial capital on tenterhooks for the last 10 days.

Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi, who was involved in a war of words with Raj over the latter's statements against actor Amitabh Bachchan and migrants, was also arrested. Both were granted bail.

Police had registered cases against Raj and Azmi on charges of "inciting regional hatred and enmity between communities."

Violence during the last 10 days has so far claimed two lives, both in Nashik. On February 13, a Maharashtrian, employee with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited was killed following stone-pelting on his bus, allegedly by MNS

supporters.

A migrant from Bihar, who was as a watchman with a private company at Igatpuri in Nashik district, was killed by a mob.

Thakeray and comments by Dr. g.s.shankar on 16 Feb 2008

No one I believe any Indian should have a right to stay whereever one chooses and it is given by the constitution and government of India should implement it at any cost even if it has to attack the personalities under treason and or considering such people who prevent the movement as some sort of terrorists committing treason not very different than Bhindrewala during hey days of 1980s. There is no difference between Raj Thakrey and Bhindrewala when it comes to the right of the citizens to live and work.Secondly only ignorant think north is Aryan and South is Dravidian. What a joke. It is true most of the North Indian Languages are Aryan but people are not. Most of the south Indian languages are Dravidian but necessarily all the people. Most of India is Aryan by language and Dravidian by ethnicity except Northwest India and Pakistan. Thirdly, this episode should not reflect Maharashtrian people. Maharashtrians have always been in the forefront in Indian patriotism and it has been Maharashtra which has been home for millions of North Indians and South Indians and there is no state where so many people from different areas lived and worked and it is the duty of all concerned to respect the Maharashtra also ,

JUST THREE SEMI-LITERATE DEHATI GOONDAS MAKING AN ASS OF THE LAWS OF THE NATION: TIME FOR SOME DECISIVE ACTION BY THE STATES AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENTS TO ELIMINATE THIS GOONDAGIRI ONCE AND FOR ALL by HUM HINDUSTANI on 16 Feb 2008

Bal Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray are nothing but a motley group of semi-literate goondas who have become a law unto themselves, are habitual offenders and who are making ass of the law while the spineless and Hijra sarkars in the State and Central, home ministries and the police just sit back and watch while they play havoc with the economy and unity of the country and the lives and sentiments of millions of human beings. In all these years they have incited and have been involved in countless number of incidents of violence, mayhem and murder. And with that they have violated so many Central and State laws for so long that it is time the the mass media and the courts took over the role of the guardians of the nation’s conscience and safeguard the right to life, liberty and property and movement enshrined in our constitution. It is time the media takes the role of campaigners against these goondas and the courts order that both the State and Central Government authorities visit these goondas and provide the courts with a comprehensive report on the total violations that have taken place in the country due to these three goondas in all these years. The courts must find where the fault lies and should not fear to name names of all those who are hand in glove with these three goondas and also tell everyone that there will be no compromise with the laws of the land, the Constitution and the human rights of people.

ORDER THE USE OF PARA-MILITARY FORCES AGAINST THIS MARATHI TERRORISTS by ZANJEERWALA POLICE on 16 Feb 2008

All these three goondas, Bal Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray have first violated the laws and then justified their actions. They should be told that even one violation now would mean lengthy incarceration for them all and the political apparatus who depend on such goondas should also be told in no uncertain terms that this will not be tolerated anymore. It is clear from all what they have done all these years that they have created massive law and order problems which this poor nation can ill-afford because it costs millions and crores of rupees to manage the law and order situation created by their stupidity and goondagiri. If anybody obstructs any officer of the government or the law, a criminal case should be registered against him and he should be arrested. If necessary, the state and central governments should be ordered to use paramilitary forces against these goondas. It seems the Law has become an ass in the hands of such goondas. We know those who have the tendency of violating law will go to any extent but this has now gone beyond all limits and should be banished forever. It is time for the courts to order the State and Central Governments to deal with this goondagiri with an iron hand and banish these Goondas forever from the face of this land.
