OWENTON - Chicago blues great Buddy Guy will headline the Blues Festival 2008 at Elk Creek Vineyards May 31. Guy, a highly influential guitarist who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Eric Clapton and BB King, influenced such artists as Jimi Hendrix and Clapton. Cincinnatian Sonny Moorman will be another of the performers at the event, which starts at 5 p.m. Guy is expected to be onstage around 8 p.m. It’s part of the winery’s annual concerts on its outdoor stage. Tickets will cost $30-$100 and can be purchased at www.elkcreekvineyards.com or by calling the winery at 502-484-0005.
Rebekka Seigel, events planner for the winery, said she hopes the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra also will perform there this outdoor season.
