Clinton Slips Away to Do 'Saturday Night Live'

March 01, 2008 11:02 PM

When the press corps got on Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign plane in Dallas for the flight to Columbus, Ohio, the candidate was not there. Her press aides came back to the press section of the plane and said they wouldn't tell reporters anything about her whereabouts, except that she would rejoin the campaign in Ohio as scheduled Sunday morning.

Where had she gone? Clinton had bolted to go "Live from New York" on "Saturday Night Live."

I am disappointed in SNL. I have enjoyed SNL's humor for over 30 years and have even laughed as it found the humor in those whom I supported. Last night, SNL went past humor and, in effect, endorsed Hillary Clinton at an opportune time for her. I will avoid SNL from this time forward.

Obama wants to cover the childern, which is a sterling idea but well I think most kids would like to be able to have both parents instead of having one die because they were unable to afford coverage for themselves and the children. And ended up neglecting preventative care for themselves so they could provide for there kids its happening now and it needs to be stopped.

Why would it be that such a majority of the well educated Democrats support Obama?

I would question how well educated they really are??

Posted by: onenibble | Mar 2, 2008 3:25:11 PM

The press is very bias toward Hillary.

Posted by: onenibble | Mar 2, 2008 3:20:02 PM

Hillary is "THE ROLL HER SLEEVES UP AND GET IT DONE" candidate

Posted by: onenibble | Mar 2, 2008 3:15:40 PM

If Obama ties to Rezco are ever explored his days as the Massiah will be over.

Posted by: onenibble | Mar 2, 2008 3:12:24 PM

Hillary is brilliant. LOVE her. Stop the hating.

Posted by: Brooke | Mar 2, 2008 1:32:44 PM

How refreshing to see that people are getting fed up with the bias clearly exhibited by supposed news reporters such as Russert and Williams.

Both reporters exhibit qualities deserving of jobs with the Obama campaign, but not for fair reporting of the news to the American public.

Posted by: Ken | Mar 2, 2008 12:34:24 PM

Saturday Night Live is doing the national media's job since they refuse to, and doing it quite well I might ad. The debate skit showing Russert and Williams' blatant disdain and hatred of Clinton was right on target. And the Obama Files cartoon shows very clearly how Obama is using and BAMBOOZLING the African American community for his own personal gain. Thank you SNL for making us laugh but also telling the TRUTH!

Where’s the DNC,I like your idea:
1. A single day National Primary.
2. Find a new DNC chairman.
In fact, Democrats are wasting too much money and resource and end up will destroy themselves. Especially the young, in-experience Senator Obama, he blames more problems of Hillary Clinton than the current GOP President. It’s a shame and outrage for every Dem. I will switch Party and vote for GOP if Hillary is out.

Your home and your children are sleeping safe and sound. The phone rings at 3AM in the White House. Something just happened in the world. Who do you want to pick up the phone?

That's an easy one. JOHN MCCAIN.

The Russell Report: More Breaking News: This Obama supporter oh I mean fair and balanced reporter has just been given todays Obama schedule:

1. He will first be visiting a Taco Bell in the greater Dallas area. Aides say that this is a part of his efforts to reach out to the Hispanic community. But most of all he wanted some tacos.

2.He will go on from there to the conference on The State of the Black Cowboy. It is beleived that this little know and overlooked group could sway the election in TX. Who knew?

3.Later he will be going to mostly southern OH. where he will attend religious services at a fundamentalist church. There supporters can wash his feet and listen to his prophecies.

4.Then its on to Canada where he will assure the canadians that he really is for Nafta. He will say that he voted for it before he was against it.

5.He will latter hold a news conference where critical questions will not be allowed this aides point out will distract from his message of hope. Besides they say why confuse the issues with facts, that would provide no useful purpose.

News Flash: Hillary Clinton will be visiting all 88 counties in OH talking about the issues facing OH voters, such as health care, jobs, education. BORING! I mean informative.

Stay tuned for more Breaking News!

Hope On A Rope - u are calling Obama the "Hope Dream imposter", but interesting enough you yourself is using the word "hope" Why is that? If hope is so bad, I wonder why you are HOPING she stays in the race like Mike...hmmmm...

After watching the morning news programs today, I'm promoting my strategy to all those frustrated by a primary campaign gone wild.

I strongly support one of the candidates over the other; however, it's obscene the amount of money that's been poured into this part of the campaign and the incredibly ugly comments that have been posted all over the internet about each candidate.

Where is the DNC and Howard Dean? They need to corral these campaigns and get them back to earth.

My strategy? Vote McCain who ha signalled voters that he might only run for a single term; let the DNC pull itself together - they are supposed to be the grown ups. Maybe they can pull themselves together by 2012. Two big things that would help.

1. a single day National Primary
2. Find a new DNC chairman

Posted by: where's the DNC? | Mar 2, 2008 10:59:06 AM

Why would it be that such a majority of the well educated Democrats support Obama?

How to explain that the great majority of people without a proper education and without any knowledge of for instance international affairs support Hillary?

BTW if you compare the blogs at Obama's and Hillary's official sites, how to explain the major diferences you see? At Obama's site you see an exchange of ideas, among them postings by people who critically question Obama's policy proposals, and very practical info on the primaries ahead, what to do, etc.

Hillary's blog is heavily censored (not a single post questioning anything about Hillary), there's no exchange of ideas on politics whatsoever, and 90% of the postings are by women who write "I love you Hillary!", "What a wonderful woman you are! We're sooooo proud of you! Hillary you're my girl!!!!" etc. Where's the real 'mania' if you compare the two, I wonder.

I happen to be a university lecturer on argumentation and rhetorics. Part of our studies consists of the analysis of auguments in debates, speeches etc. During the last three monts our students focused on the two Democratic senators left in this presidential campaign. I look forward to publish some results of our findings soon.

For now let me say that IMO Hillary Clinton is a mirage, a projection screen for dissatisfied women.

And Mr. Obama is promising to become one of the greatest Presidents in our nation's history. Mark my words.

As I watch this campaign from outside the U.S., I am concerned (as I was in 2000) that the U.S. electorate can be so easily swayed by form over substance. I hope they do not pass up this golden opportunity to bennefit from the scope of Mrs. Clinton's experience.

Posted by: Wasnotbornyesterday | Mar 2, 2008 10:16:40 AM

Who is Hillary? politician or actress ? Democrat or Republican ? Is she spending her election fund for nice dresses? Hilary Clinton is simply a political mediocre. She can only act as commander in chief, but never can truly perform that. Compared to her ability she has already gained more than enough. For her, politics is a way of building someone’s carrier. That is why she could compromise with her husband few years ago. For ambition she can do anything even can destroy her party as she started undermine & defame another democrat.

People who want more & more possitive coverage about Hillary should think once again who has poluted the air ?

Posted by: Politra | Mar 2, 2008 10:03:28 AM

Hillary slipped away, and this week we'll see her slip and slip away big time.

Nothing will be lost when loosing Hillary.

In Hillary's eight (8) years in the Senate, the Congressional Record (www.thomas.gov) shows she "sponsored" only two (2) pieces of legislation that were presented to the president for signature. The first piece of legislation (S. 1241) was to establish a historic site in New York state, the second (S. 3613) was to name a U.S. Postal Service building.

Hillary as a politician is joke. She has been "the wife of..." for most of her life. At the end this year insiders tell us she'll have divorced our former President and she'll survive as a running joke in American culture.

I just watched Obama's svengali, David Axelrod on ABC - perhaps the more apt description would be "The Wizard of Oz - Unmasked"!

I guess years ago he realized that his own ambitions would be thwarted by his uncharming, stammering demeanor. So, he set about finding a more attractive, well spoken man whose persona he could create - investing in him his own hopes and dreams.

The question is whose really in charge here?

Posted by: twimmom48 | Mar 2, 2008 9:29:34 AM

jrm102- To answer your question about if Obama would be a good leader. To start with, he has run a brilliant campaign and not loaned his campaign any money!! He has also constantly raised far more funds than Clinton has done.
Problem with Clinton from the start is: She thought the nomination was in a bag for her!!
Experience should teach you never to underestimate anyone/anything. You should also never make assumptions in politics!

she is hands down the best candidate for the job...

i agree with the note that Hitler rose from sheer personal magnitude and popularity, promising "change" and "greatness and restoring 'hope' to the fatherland..

its actually very serious and if he backed 'live birth abortions' as the note from Ill says...he's very very sick...

i think his church is outright racist...
and it has direct links to farraghan..

Obama is for God's sake a state senator...

I have more experience in government than he and i would not run for president ...

Hilary is hugely intelligent, has a demonstrated track record for true concern and has as one other has stated here...

a true domestic and global awareness which is simply as deep as the ocean...

...the obama camp has its good qualities but including those republicans who are sure to kick his very own ass in the fall, when they swith back in texas and other places to vote against him...isn't one of them...

shame on you barack...courting republican votes even when you have heard from their own mouths they are doing this strategically to kill the best and most seriously feared republican killer candidate in the business...

the clintons are for middle class and working class and even the poor and the minoties...they have a true record of helping ALL people...in this country..

and its simply for real...no words only crowd...and this is why the elites in many respects do hate the clintons....

Posted by: rich | Mar 2, 2008 9:07:35 AM

If you think that Hillary and Bill have negative ratings, just wait until the republican get their teeth into Barack and Michelle Obama. I think the liberal wing of the democratic party is the constant scourge of the party. In every primary in the past 30 years with the exception of 1992 and 1996 (Bill Clinton), the Democratic Party has been thrilled the the candidate they have selected only to find that the general election was a whole new ballgame. Unfortunately for this independent, and many more, they have done it again. Obama will not be able to beat McCain in the fall and that is unfortunate for all Americans.

Posted by: Mary | Mar 2, 2008 9:04:47 AM

Obama's biggest advantage against ANYONE is the MEDIA! Let’s face it, according to the media, Hillary Rodham Clinton can’t do anything right and Barack Hussein Obama can’t do anything wrong. Poor Obama. I seem to recall Obama recently saying "its all about the delegates". Now he is spouting that the popular vote is what the superdelegates need to vote on. Hmmm which is it? Obama needs less of "yes we can" and a lot of 'how he can'. We need experience in the Oval Office and Obama does not have it. Vote Hillary! She is a candidate of action…he is a candidate of words. We need experience in these hard times.

Posted by: PROUDAMERICAN2008 | Mar 2, 2008 8:31:14 AM

When I early voted here in Texas, a driving thought I had was who would be the best Democrat to represent not only me but my child in the years to come. I chose Hillary Clinton.

In recent years she has become a true leader who I believe will look out for society's most vulnerable. Children, the elderly and the downtrotten will benefit from a Clinton presidency.

As I final note, in years past, I have not been a Hillary fan. However, people can surprise you. It's now apparent to me that she is a much more mature, thoughtful individual than in years past and has the self discipline, global awareness and bridge-building skills this country needs right now.

Posted by: Concerned Austinite | Mar 2, 2008 8:13:54 AM

Get over your infatuation with Hillary. It is understandable that you would like her to win. However, it is time to accept some hard reality. She has very high negative ratings and she is uninspiring. She tries to be everything for everyone. She needs to show some real leadership, which will attract more voters to her cause.

What a bunch of losers and have been's!
Saturday Night Live missed the plot and a real chance. The White House at 3am. The phone rings, in the darkened bedroom a small light comes on, Michelle answers the phone, “It’s that crazy woman again”. Barack takes the phone. “Get over it girl, you lost. … OK next time I’ll take the first question, now let us get some sleep. Good night”

Thanks ABC for some fair reporting about Hillary. I was beginning to think I there was nowhere for this DEM to go to read fair reporting about her.

I have gotten to the point after having OB crammed down my throat for so long by the MSM that even McCain looks better to me.

I find it odd that the majority of America felt as if their votes were disenfranchised in 2000 & 2004 by the Republicans, but now the Dems are trying to disenfranchise close to half of their own party by rushing to select the nominee and not asking why the candidate 1/2 of their party is not receiving equal "decent" press.

Words matter and the MSM selects demeaning words to describe everything Hillary does or says like attacking, going negative while at the same time describing OB with words like raptorous, lightning strike come back. Yes, all you "educated" people OB is supposedly attracting, have you not had time in your busy lives to do your own fact checking or to question the discrepancies in the way our two Dem candidates are being covered?

Posted by: tiredofit | Mar 2, 2008 7:26:47 AM

Had it been Obama we would have woke up this morning having to look at his face PLASTERED all over everywhere. Proof, there is MSM bias.

The MSM is selecting the Dem candidate just like they selected Bush Jr with biased reporting.

How can anyone honestly claim they believe the MSM has been fair in their reporting when Obama blowing his nose gets more press than when Hillary is on SNL?

When Republican Huckabee (not a candidate the press thinks is a threat to Obama) was on SNL it was widely reported and talked about for days, if not for a week. The press is being overly transparent in their adoration of OB instead of doing their job and reporting fairly.

Posted by: tiredofit | Mar 2, 2008 7:18:14 AM

It deeply sadens me to know that someone will bring up someone parents past has deceased. We as poeple are not responsible for our parents back grounds. Let it go do not talk about Obama's parents. He has inspired America. We all have to answer for our own mistakes. You know they are women who stay with the wrong man, because of love. I hope the person that has sais that about Obama's parents has asked God to forgive them. No matter what background our parents come from. We still love them as God loves us.

Posted by: Wanda | Mar 2, 2008 7:02:52 AM

I think she knows that her ship has sailed, and she's unlikely to be getting any more invitations to be on TV after the primaries are over. She's already old news to most educated voters, and despite the media's love affair with the Clintons, she'll soon be old news even to Hollywood. Maybe the voters in New York will wise up... nahh, now that'd be way too much to expect!

Posted by: Namako OH3 | Mar 2, 2008 6:59:29 AM

Hardly surprising... the Democratic party establishment, Hollywood, and (until recently) "the media" are pretty much in Hillary's camp. This is simply some free air time from Hollywood, which overwhelmingly supports Hillary.

Posted by: JustMe | Mar 2, 2008 6:28:43 AM

So being on a sketch comedy show is more important than Ohio. Thanks for the heads up, Hil. I'll keep that in mind when I'm voting for your betters.

Posted by: justhesh | Mar 2, 2008 6:12:04 AM

Just to have Bush out and Hillary in as President will be a HUGE change. We will have a woman for the first time in the office. Obama is just another from the boys club. He is playing politics the good ole' way. He will be destroyed by the Republicans. I could never vote for him because he really looks to Hillary for the answers and always backs down to her opinions. Obama people think they own the media. Well, SNL loves Hillary. And Obama I suppose has Rush Limbauh.

Posted by: Trustmiracles | Mar 2, 2008 5:35:24 AM

Obama should become an actor or a preacher and stay clear of politics. He is a puppet. As you heard from the last debate, he doesn't reject any one who wants to give him money and he takes it for his campaign. Now he will owe them for the money they have given him and the country will pay. Evita was loved by her country, and so was Bush at the beginning. Take heed Texas and Ohio. Vote for someone with a tract record. Hillary has set the stage for so much good to occur. Only her plans are published. She is organized. She is ready. The economy can't handle another "flavor of the month." We need someone who has a resume. I'm praying that Hillary gets your support. Thanks!

Posted by: Trustmiracles | Mar 2, 2008 5:29:18 AM

nothing can stand on the way of the power of millions calling for change not even attending SNL,s. HRC is very desperate, she &Bill; will do everything even to the point of hurting the Dem party. Superdelagetes act now.

Posted by: alexis compton | Mar 2, 2008 5:24:17 AM

Another thing that I want to mention is that I had a good plan to help the U.S. economy, big time, but U.S. politicians were too lazy to implement it.

U.S. is suppose to be the best country to absorb best creative ideas, but not really anymore. This is my biggest complain about this country.

Another thing that I want to mention is that I have been urging our husband, a talented scientist, to invent a device that would detect biological or nuclear materials. U.S. scientists are only half way there, and it may be another 5-10 years before this kind of technology could be implemented in this country. I wish it would happen sooner though.

After all, guys, you got to believe me that I am on your side. Why consider me as your enermy? We are on the same boat, and I care about mine and my family's future as much as you do.

Please do hurt my feelings.

Posted by: ying | Mar 2, 2008 5:14:23 AM

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 5:01:03 AM

I don't know anything about India, but I know China right now is suffering a bad inflation with a sharp rise with labor cost and energy cost and housing. Therefoe, China is likely unable to attract foreign manufacturing investments as much as it did during the past. Not right away, but Americans might be able to see a drop in foreign investments in a few years in China.

To be honest to say, I would rather me and my family here to get the best jobs we want. I truly hope that some smart American politicians would be able to figure out a way to increase job insourcing and reducing job outsourcing. Why not? Having a good job is part of the good life for us, right?

Good night, guys. I have to go now.

Posted by: ying | Mar 2, 2008 4:54:23 AM

People are just humans, have you ever had a plan in your head and it looked great and started it, but for it to work everybody that was a part of it had to do their part, well some where along the line some one dropped the ball, and it didn't work out the way you planned, but you still got blamed for it, well our leader have these great ideals, and they look really good but the thing is they really can't do any thing unless congress and the senate agrees to it, but when someone drops the ball, who gets the blame?

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 4:49:27 AM

I agree with Jrm to be able to work with all those different nations takes talent, and sure they support him, they like him, life was good when he was in office, they felt as though they had a friend there, and that is a good thing, friends support each other, cause every body hit rough spots, every nation hits rough spots, and if you have dealt fair with the other nations then they will be there for you, Clinton did that,

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 4:43:11 AM

This is only because they have proven themselves very beneficial to the world as well as the United States, something that is unheard of. To be great to one group of people is easy, to be great to a large group of people is harder. People from other nation realize this. You have no idea how lucky you are to have the Clintons.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 4:34:45 AM

Somehow, I do agree with vet, that chinese, indian and hispanics are big Clinton supporters. And if you look closely, there is definitely an encouraging Clinton coziness to such people professing dual, and partisan affiliation, even to the level of stealing American military secrets. These groups tend to sing clinton praises more than the others. There is definitely some exploitation of American jobs and American interests here. Clintons are big contributors to NAFTA and their pandering that started all these.

Posted by: Dave | Mar 2, 2008 4:29:43 AM

Why hasn't Obama said anything about this? Because I really really really sorry but this is the direction of national trade. Sorry but no politician can grant you any safety against this. Not Obama not Clinton, I'm really sorry for you.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 4:21:11 AM

Let see could it have been when Clinton was in office we were making money off of china, not borrowing money from china

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 4:19:50 AM

Well since we got that cleared up, back to the current. Any Obama supporters out there? Please voice your opinion, concern, facts and so on.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 4:15:56 AM

Well at least the Clintons didn't call on China to loan us money, we had money when they were in Office, and we had jobs, which is better than bush and his boys did,

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 4:12:21 AM

errr...she when there to talk about civil rights.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 4:10:21 AM

Don't forget that Clinton made a speech in China about women's rights.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 4:06:01 AM

Hey, vet12,

To tell you the truth, that I would rather me and my family here to get the best jobs we want. I care about my American friends as much as I care about my Chinese friends.

Meanwhile, I have complains about China's freedom of speech and women's rights. America stands for freedom and Democracy, so I wish I don't have to see it gets into another difficult time. This is my mitivation, honestly.

Posted by: ying | Mar 2, 2008 4:04:21 AM

Finally, the elephant in the room. Clintons sold America to China...good that we see it. Our kids poisoned, and our military secrets gone....

Posted by: sam | Mar 2, 2008 3:59:02 AM

Spewing so much hate is not what is called for. I want vote for Obama cause I don't like what he stands for.Hilliary I have watched on TV, I have watched as she has stood the test, Obama is not tested, that is my reasons, and as of right now I still have the right to do that, If you like Obama and you trust your judgment then vote for him, if you like McCain vote for him, that is our right to do so, Vote for Nader, vote for any one you want, but back off the hate , name calling stuff, that doesn't prove are help anything

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 3:41:42 AM

I think Tim's reasons, namely reasons 2-5 are more opinions than reasons. Even reason number 1 could be considered a good thing.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 3:40:57 AM

America is in love with Obama, and love makes people blind. Americans are not being able to see or think clearly anymore when it comes to Obama. Obama is like American Idol kind of politician. He is charming, but Americans need some time to learn Obama’s secret soul before they could trust him to lead our future.

I am a naturalized Chinese American, and I know perfectly well how foreigners loved America and liked Americans back in 1990s when Bill Clinton was in the office. I also remember how U.S. Economy was booming when Bill was the president. Hillary Clinton is bossy and carries a lot of political dirt, but she is smart and competent and likely carry Bill’s policy that helps bring another good time for this country.

If Americans are really tired of Bush or Clinton family, John McCain may be another better choice than Obama since McCain is more experienced, reliable, and royal to this country.

Posted by: ying | Mar 2, 2008 3:38:20 AM

I think that Hillary's problems are her own and not due to Obama. She had everything to start with and she just could not manage or win this campaign. Just one simple example, she had no game plan post Super Tuesday. She had mismanaged her finance. She keeps changing her message and her themes, she keeps whining, crying and then trying to tell us all that she is strong at 3am....come on, Americans get confused...don't they see that??? what a frustrating thing to watch such stupidity. Even, kindergarten kids will run a better campaign. She ain't no good. Period. Nothing wins like winning.... and Hillary is a GUARANTEED LOSER....

You know I keep hearing how Obama won those 11 states, and he did, with what people that voted. which by the way was not very many, I know that Kansas has more than 8000 people living in it,so you know saying those states support someone is like listening to the polls they put out, read at the bottom of the polls out of 900 people polled, more that 50% voted for , sounds good til you look at the numbers

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 3:13:41 AM

IRAQ is not an old issue if we are spending $12 billion a month there and borrowing trillions from China to finance it....Universal healthcare should not be shoved down our throats and be penalized if we don't want it...Healthcare should be affordable for people to make their own decisions about their health

Posted by: playlist | Mar 2, 2008 3:05:46 AM

Playlist, you are damn right. Tony, you hit the nail on the head. There are so many reasons why we should not vote for Hillary. You both listed them very well. Let the clintonites, go join her and cry and shed some tears. She just mis-managed her campaign. Bill derailed it long time back. It aint a winning team. They are losers. I care more about the future than the past, and Hillary will not win for me. She is a GUARANTEED LOOOOOSER!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Matt | Mar 2, 2008 3:01:10 AM

First of all Iraq is an old issue, the issue should be what to do with Iraq. Second, no one can keep their tax returns a secret. Third, she introduced universal health care to the nation as a first lady, but the nation didn't like the idea because it was new...even though most industrialized nation already have universal health care.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 3:00:42 AM

Senator Obama has stated he has the best Judgment to be the leader of the Free World.
And accordingly, Sen. Obama has been running several ads regarding his better judgment.

From his ads we are made aware that he voted against the resolution authorizing the president to make war in Iraq and sic he believes he has the best judgment to be commander and chief. Pretty simple.

Now, what about the other side of the coin?

It very well may be possible that he may NOT have the best judgment when you consider his longstanding and close personal attachments to the indicted and currently Jailed Illinois influence peddler - Tony Rezko.

This incarcerated man, that financed and bankrolled Sen. Obama, had for many years been a well known corrupt influence peddler throughout Illinois.

Was he naive and just thought that this slime ball was buying the lot next to his out of the sheer goodness of his heart? It’s been reported, Sen. Obama received a $300,000.00 windfall because of his Rezco connection.

Or did he know he would owe something in return to this guy? What was he thinking when ReZCO sponsored his first huge fundraiser, the one that got his original Senatorial campaign started. This would be interesting and you know the Republicans are going to be digging and slinging the mud for answers. Slimey.

Sen. Obama should have shown at least some Judgment?

Posted by: greg rose | Mar 2, 2008 2:57:23 AM

I agree with Tony. Hillary has turned out to be a loser. A guaranteed loser. Nothing wins like winning. I am moving out of Hillary. There is no reason to vote for her and waste my investment. She had no plan post super Tuesday. HILLARY sure is a GUARANTEED LOSER.

Vote for clinton ..then take it back ..like she did on IRAQ...don't release your tax returns while asking for trust and honesty from others...
cry and whine like a baby when things don't go your way...fail at universal healthcare because you didn't want to listen to others...run a losing overspending campaign while asking voters to trust you with the economy..there's your reason NOT to vote for Hillary...not good enough go research for yourself...

As far as the "economy" as one of the top issues, did any of you see Jim Cramer on the Ellen show this past week. She asked him point blank out of all the candidates running "who would be the best for our economy?" I was shocked by the answer he gave. He said "hands down it is Hillary". He further explained that she had given a lot of thought about the economy and developed proposals on it where as the other candidates haven't put as much thought into the economy. He seemed to indicated she had a sophistication about her in her ability to study the issues and develop solutions. I was totally not expecting him to state that answer. Typically ex-wall street types favor republicans because the myth is the republicans are good for our financial markets...which is not currently the case.

Posted by: terry | Mar 2, 2008 2:27:12 AM

Tungsten---
that would be 13 Clinton supporters as I am an Independant.

Posted by: ShadowKnows | Mar 2, 2008 2:25:10 AM

As far as releasing tax returns, I think that is a "red herring" to distract voters from the "real issues". Every Senator is required to complete documents of their finances. Both Obama and Clinton have fulfilled that requirement. If someone can explain what the tax return has to do with any of the issues (Iraq, economy, healthcare, education, etc...) then I might see the point. It seems that the Obama campaign wants to distract voters and send them down a path that is a waste of time. In one sense of politics, he is good at taking attention of him and drawing negative attention to the other candidates.

Posted by: terry | Mar 2, 2008 2:20:47 AM

Obama is running a negative campaign...and that is not "real change" that he has promised us. His campaign had a negative reaction to the question "who do you want answering the phone at 3 AM?". that is a valid question and its not negative...but Obama's campaign over reacted to that question and is now making more attacks...he is turning this into a negative campaign. When he attacks the other candidates it makes him look weak--he says one thing (hope, unity, change) but his actions are mean and nasty. Obama is not demonstrating "good judgement" when he acts like this. If he were, then he would make a response that was not an attack and keep that response focused on his qualifications and experience and track record.

Posted by: terry | Mar 2, 2008 2:16:18 AM

Just leave all these negatives talks about both CLINTON AND OBAMA. Let voters decide on MARCH 4th.BEST WISHES FOR THE WINNER.

All those women who somehow want a woman to be in the Whitehouse, why don't you consider Laura Bush. This time let Obama take the Presidency and next time, I will also campaign with you for Laura. Laura Bush commands more respect, has valuable post 9/11 experience as First Lady, and does not exhibit all the trash of Hillary Clinton. Woman Power is better enhanced with a Good woman. Hillary has a fundamental problem with more than half the Americans for all her acts of commissions, omissions, corruption and shady deals. So, Laura Bush 2012, let us go for it. Obama '08!!!

Posted by: martha | Mar 2, 2008 2:14:17 AM

Hillary was great on SNL. I have reconsidered, my vote for Obama is not going to happen. Obama talked about invading Pakistan to look for Osama. The mess in Iraq is too much death and expense, we don't need another Bush foreign policy plan. ******Hillary 2008 & 2012 ***********

Leadership isn't not only vision but dept, experience, tenacity, and the ability to get the most they can with what they have to start with. Sorry but Obama's vision is impractical at best, he has little experience, has tenacity but depends totally on this words and speeches to carry him.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 2:09:07 AM

AC I kinda like having one that has the answers to understand the vision, if all you have is a vision, it is called a pipe dream

Posted by: pespiloverforever | Mar 2, 2008 2:07:10 AM

I'm not saying Obama would be the worst President ever but he should really consider coming back 10 years from now when he has build up a real rep and understands politics better. That way he doesn't have to depend on his dancing to get him votes.

Posted by: jrm102 | Mar 2, 2008 2:04:47 AM

those of you that voted for hillary have no idea what leadership is about...a leader is not the person that has all the answers, but instead is the person who has the vision, which clinton is not.

Nice going...we might have had our first America Idol President because of young independent voters.

Imagine a kid who was nowhere in the scene a year ago scaring the sh..t out of mighty Clintons!!!!!....Two Clintons fighting one skinny kid...ha..ha...It was supposed to be Hillary's coronation????? The more Obama is on the campaign, the stronger he gets everyday. The longer Hillary stays, the dirtier it gets. All she can do now is WHINE and CRY...The sooner she leaves the better it is for the democratic party.

How many hundreds of times has everyone seen and heard the last phrase of the intro? We can say it in our collective sleep:

"Live from New York! It's Saturday Night!"

Not Hillary. She botched it:

"Live from New York! IT IS Saturday Night!"

Even on SNL, she has to play it studious and diligent and "correct."

What a hall monitor.

Posted by: horizonr | Mar 2, 2008 1:43:32 AM

Man, that was lame.

She shouldn't have appeared after the skit - it made it look like a long commercial for her, and drained out what little humor there was. It would have been a more effective hit piece without her there.

It made it look like the SNL comics were her little lapdogs. And, she just keeps at the "victim" routine.

The fact for whoever blame the War:

People blamed Bush to start the War. The fact is: it was US senate to authorize the War. 77 senators voted YES to protect your life. It was majority of people's will: to protect people from Danger by all means.. O and other 23 voted against the people's will..
Oh, sorry, O was not qualified to vote yet, he just stood by...

When president swear to office: the first sentences he read are: protect your country and fellow people...

77 senators did right thing to vote YES to protect this country. It was Bush Adm failed to end it soon. Now Mr. O turned the failure of Bush Adm to against his 77 fellow colleuges: you see, I had good judgement: I am right, you are wrong!! What a dirty trick!!

If O is nominated by chance, he will be crashed by Repulicians: he declaimed No to protect people; he showed no experience to lead country out of recession, what else he has? A promised change: another Rezko Scandal in W.H......

Hillary and Bush are same: 1. Both were for the war in Iraq. 2. Both were for invading Iran. 3. Both cannot manage one's own campaign or the country 4. Both stubbornly refuse to accept their mistakes. 5. Both are psychotics, they are always right no matter what happens.. 6. Both squandered all the money and good will and got into deficit. Besides, if Hillary Clinton is so smart, how in the world did she squander away an inevitable lead that she possessed just three months ago, and HOW IN THE WORLD DID SHE END UP IN THE SITUATION SHE NOW FINDS HERSELF???? Why would anyone still believe in a stock that is just going down the drain? Obama built a company from scratch. I will hire him and fire Hillary without any hesitation. She is not fit to run even a dunkin donuts, much less this country. Latinos for Obama!!!!!

We have had elections in 2004. Obama himself dint question Kerry and Edwards in 2004 DNC for their Iraq War Vote. Why, because that time he was building his roots in the party. He is basing his entire campaign now on Iraq war.

1. Why did the bonehead smoke drugs?
2. Why did OBAMA lie about his involvements with Tony Rezko and Auchi for 17years?
3. Why did OBAMA support NAFTA during his Senate elections?
4. Why is OBAMA using negative ads?
5. Why did he vote for allowing sex shops in school zone in Illinois?

If Obama is basing his campaign on Change and saying Hillary has a corrupt past, one should question him accepting support from John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and most of all Dickk Morris. All these people are very shady.

Get the word around. Obama is talking about changing Washington, but he is surrounding himself with Washington with all the endorsements. If one supports him he calls them authentic, all else are corrupt. What a phony

Okay, we said we wouldn't tell you every time there was another Democratic defection.

But it seems worth noting that supporters aren't just flipping from supporting Hillary Clinton to backing Barack Obama.

Today, the Clinton campaign announced that El Paso County Commissioner and former Barack Obama supporter Veronica Escobar has switched her support to Clinton.

According to a release from the Clinton camp:

The announcement follows a Latino Decisions Texas Poll that shows Hillary Clinton leading Barack Obama by 62% to 21% among registered Hispanic voters in Texas.

“While I initially liked Barack Obama," Escobar says in the release, "I am supporting Hillary Clinton because it is clear that she is the one candidate who will truly fight for our communities as president."

You have all made valid points, Hillary's disturbing need tobe president, Obabma's lack of experience and countless unknown skeletons in his closet. Based on what I have read here I am convinced that McCain is the way to go. Socially he is pretty liberal, willing to discuss global warming, universal healthcare and immigrant amnesty. On the global front, let's be honest, we all now that we would rather have him in charge when that 3 am phone call comes in over Hillary or Obama. At the end of the day he is the only one willing to put aside tal of what went wrong in Iraq and focus on the best way to mae sure that our efforts there were not wasted. Everyone continues to bring up his 100 years in Iraq comment, but remember the US has been in Germany since 1945 and remains there to this day. And what has happened there? A unified and powerful democratic state has arisen where once lay a nation hell bent on twice trying to take over europe. And what about Japan. We are still there too, and guess what, Japan has one of the most prosperous nations in the world. Saying we will be in Iraq for 100 years does not mean we will be fighting for 100 years, it is merely a promise to the people of Iraq that America will support efforts to stabilize the region from this day forward so Iraq can prosper someday. If you pull out, you will only have to go back in. This is something that the great Orator Obama already admitted himself, yet he continues to support an immediate withdrawal. He says it because he means it, which means he doesn't understand the issue. Hillary says it because she thinks it will get her elected, which means she doesn't have the nations's interests in mind. McCain does.

"Hope-on-a-rope" That is really funny!

Posted by: thepensiveone | Mar 2, 2008 12:48:18 AM

Yo Bob, I have met McCain, Listened to McCain, Lived under McCain. Don't go there.

Posted by: ShadowKnows | Mar 2, 2008 12:47:35 AM

Obama talks so confidently about make right judgements. Did he also make a bad judgement by dealing with REZKO?

What a joke....for him his bad judgements are ok.

I watched the SNL. She is a bore. When she loses, soon she will have plenty of time to do all the comedy in the world. Let Obama run the Whitehouse. She cannot even manage her campaign economy, how on earth to believe she will manage this country? She turned out to be the biggest disappointment during the Dems campaign season. In addition, she whines, cries and runs a nasty campaign. People are plain tired of her tricks and inefficiency. She is not presidential material at all. McCain and Obama are so much better, they appear more mature.

Dallasvoter---Good luck with that.
I respect Ron Paul.

Posted by: ShadowKnows | Mar 2, 2008 12:38:05 AM

Hillary, you were great on SNL. You did find a way to bring some humor into this campaign. Didn't realize you could add some laughter to the show.

Wish you well on Tuesday!

Posted by: stevem | Mar 2, 2008 12:25:41 AM

Yeah, Hillary! Thank you SNL!! I bet Obama will get jealous and whine for equal time like he did with Ellen.

Posted by: Firefighter | Mar 2, 2008 12:22:08 AM

Maybe after Hillary finally concedes the nomination she can become more of a regular on SNL. I think she has really found her calling!

Posted by: w_roos | Mar 2, 2008 12:22:05 AM

what's Hillary experince for ready to be commander in chief from day one? For being a wife of Bill? She is just a senator, so Obama.

Obama is running a campaign on just one issue, his lack of support for the war when he did not even have to vote. But when its time to vote, he avoids responsibility if it does not help him politically. more than 130 times voting not present in chicago senate, not taking care of his committee on afghanistan, then remember his story about the soldiers not having weapons to use? the guy is a hipocrite. the show is over.

Posted by: Juan | Mar 2, 2008 12:20:10 AM

Hmm. Even when Hill and Bill have been cleared of knowing about their actions they have a list of some 40 shady characters, and that suicide, with whom they have been closely associated.

Obama has one, and the jury's still out on how close the involvement was.

Well, I guess he doesn't have the "experience" to have built up the other 39 yet.

Hillary Clinton was fantastic! She was a welcome addition to Saturday Night Live.

Hillary Clinton 08

Posted by: Unemployed Citizen | Mar 2, 2008 12:17:43 AM

Funny how people only talk about media bias when they're losing.

Posted by: WR Hearst | Mar 2, 2008 12:16:32 AM

Goodbye Hillary, wish I could say it was nice to have known you.

Posted by: Bill | Mar 2, 2008 12:15:07 AM

Are you people nuts??

Obama, McCain already appeared on SNL before Hillary did. And Hillary didn't take that 1 minute for campaigning. Why are you saying so many hatred words to Hillary? Are you all brain-washed by Obama cult? Wake up!!

Hillary is a hard working woman for 35 years, while Obama is...research it!! I couldn't find anything.

Hillary for president!

Posted by: joylife | Mar 2, 2008 12:13:37 AM

its over for the preacher, the smoke is now clearing. i am wondering what he is going to do with all that money REZKO got him.

Posted by: Juan | Mar 2, 2008 12:13:07 AM

Hillary Clinton?

Humor?

What am I missing?

Posted by: Jon Stewart | Mar 2, 2008 12:12:07 AM

I guess SNL wanted to prove your feb 28th article wrong Jake. Instead of hillary talking about their show they had her talk on the show. Maybe they thought you guys still weren't getting it? Hope you don't stay up too late researching arguments trying to disprove media bias again.

Posted by: rob | Mar 2, 2008 12:11:38 AM

Obama is in trouble. Toda, the Y times front page has an article on REZKO. Newsweek also has one out about REZKO.

Obama run a camppaign on principle, and he admits that he made a bonehead desicion in his dealings with REZKO eventhough he had all the information in front of him to make the honest, correct desicion. Where is the honesty he so much talks about, how can i vote for him now? How can anybody believe what he says?

Posted by: Juan | Mar 2, 2008 12:10:25 AM

Go Hillary. Obama is a sham. Hoodwinking us all.

Posted by: maria | Mar 2, 2008 12:05:00 AM

Unless she's going to play the sax, I don't see why she's there.

Hillary has no humor.

Just a silly, sad campaign.

Posted by: JB | Mar 2, 2008 12:02:57 AM

President Hillery what a joke, but not funny because it is entirely possible, and that scares me.

Posted by: Taylor | Mar 2, 2008 12:01:24 AM

If Hilary has so much experience in dealing with issues in washington. Why is our country in the crisis it's in? Why has her campaign made so many bad decision and sqandared many of her donors hard earn dollars. why want Hilary release her tax returns? Let's remember the Bill and Hilary Clinton Experince when they were in the white house. During the Clinton Presidency years I remember experiencing their numerous scandals, Lies, deception, that brought shame to this Great Nation. Do we want to experience this again? Just Think About It.

Posted by: Another Ron | Mar 1, 2008 11:56:01 PM

They will break out laughing when she uses that "I'll be commander in chief from day one line". When I think of comedy Hillary certainly comes to mind!! Give me a break!! She should be on celebrity apprentice her and Omarosa "sp" are two of a kind. Her routine the last 10 days has been classic. Cordial Hillary, Followed by Angry Hillary, than sarcastic Hillary, bitchy Hillary and back to poor me Hillary its so tough to be a woman. Vote for me because the big bad media doesn't like me! Just go back to being a senator; your emotions this week have truly shown you are not ready on day one!!

Posted by: robert | Mar 1, 2008 11:35:15 PM

Hillary, I love the fact that Bill Clinton was one of the greatest President but i think that it is time for the Clintons and the Bushs let someone else run this nation. Obama is the man for this period and that is that. Go Obama!

Posted by: edwin in Peabody | Mar 1, 2008 11:34:41 PM

She getting free air time from SNL, I guess her plan is to spend less on paid ad so that she can collect the $5m she borrowed her campaign in February. Hey Hillary supporters ask for a statement of account, you need to know how she's spending your hard earned cash. Do you guys still remember what happened to your first donation?

Posted by: Chan | Mar 1, 2008 11:34:35 PM

live from new york. i am bowing out. thank you america. hillary need help to do this.SNL help her

Posted by: Tony Joseph | Mar 1, 2008 11:30:23 PM

I could care less that Hillary Rodham is on SNL tonight or that Barack Obama inspires hope-on-a-rope for people - I'm voting my conscience by proudly voting for Ron Paul.

Posted by: DallasVoter | Mar 1, 2008 11:30:00 PM

Too late! Nobody likes her humor. She is so depressing.

Posted by: Mark | Mar 1, 2008 11:28:49 PM

Hillary I donot think you appearing on saturday night live will make obama vote supporters go down. You cannot change a phenominal man. He has inspired America. We love Obama, because he is based on change and hope. Without hope we are in the land of the lost. I Pray that Obama get Ohio and Texas, and all of the other states that is in the primary. Go Obama

Posted by: Wanda | Mar 1, 2008 11:22:30 PM

People always talk about the love affair the media has had with Barack...

What if HE had lost 11 contests in a row? Would we even be HAVING this conversation??? She is lucky to have the Media on her side. I really do hope Obama pulls out victories in both OH and TX so we can put this thing to bed.

And if he only wins one, he still beats her. Period.

Posted by: Dave in Atlanta | Mar 1, 2008 11:22:02 PM

The media's love fest with Obama the Blank Screen Candidate has really been the comedy act of the season. I really don't think Hillary will be able to top that joke, but you gotta give her credit for trying. She's a welcome addition to Saturday Night Live.

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Mar 1, 2008 11:18:57 PM

I don't think she'll top Mike Huckabee.
