Program Description
The Program, which was the first of its kind in the U.S., teaches applied math
and its application in the financial industry, utilizing a highly distinguished
faculty from the University’s Mathematics, Statistics and Economics Departments,
as well as industry professionals. Coursework emphasizes both the theoretical
background and practical aspects of pricing derivatives and managing assets,
and is designed for students to attain a deep understanding of the underlying
assumptions and to critically ascertain the applicability and limitations of
various models.
Mathematical knowledge
and ability comparable to an undergraduate degree in mathematics or a physical
science is preferred. Exposure to the financial industry is also desirable.
