"Be careful if/when fooling around with fireworks."

How about telling people not to play with fireworks at all? There are enough professionally-produced fireworks spectaculars in and around NYC. Why risk severe burns and death - not to mention potentially causing thousands of dollars in property damage - just to set off a stupid firecracker?

Playing with fireworks is fun and can be safe too, but theres always a few dipshits who blow off their hands doing something stupid and ruin it for the rest of us.
