SOUTHERN LIFE

Hello and welcome to New Zealand's Roll of Honour. My name is Leigh, I am the webmaster. Due to the exorbitant cost put on by the New Zealand Government, to obtain New Zealand military files I would like people who are willing to Adopt a Soldier, please choose one of the many that are already listed and just let me know which one it is by emailing me here please don't do ones that are already completed, those that are completed include when and where born and next of kin. A big thankyou to Jackie Walles for all the AWN photos of WWI soldiers, also to Brian Spear & Carol Spragg for both World Wars. Chris Mckelvey for all of the WWII AWN's, Adele Pentony-Graham and the families who have contributed photos and information to this site. Please read the copyright Thankyou to the Wanganui Collegiate School Museum for the many photos and much information of soldiers from the Boer War and World War one. Thanks to Mike Smith for the grave photos of the Korean War soldiers, this section will be done soon and to Phil Lascelles for the Royal New Zealand Navy. At the bottom of the page is a Google search engine, it seems to work ok, I have left the links on the side in case there are problems. If you don't find your soldier or experience trouble please use the links on the left as the google search engine is only updated monthly (as far as I know).

Dial up modems please be patient as some pages are quite large

Email: kiwi_anzac@hotmail.com (copy and paste if the above link does not work)

6/2832. 2nd Lieutenant Valentine Blake
Does anyone know of a photo of this soldier
died at Gallipoli

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
